When following Dan Duchaines Body opus or Dave Palumbos diet, its very easy to lose weight as your water levels get depleted in your fat cells and muscle cells but when introducing carbs back to the diet it has a serious rebound affect and you can even get heavier than you started off.

How do you guys that prefer the keto diet stay in shape when you come off the keto diet? Do you introduce only oats and sweet potatoes to start with and carb cycle or do you carry on keto style with more carb loading or cheating days?
Cheers

Is your goal to stay lean or start puttin on size? If you wanna stay lean why change, but if you just want to eat carbs and stay lean add carbs and cut some fat so calories are same. If you want to grow just add some carbs to what you are doing now. Adjust when necessary, not too complicated:)

Im going to continue keto dieting until august but when I get back to carbs I attack them like a crack addict. Thats my fear, I guess at my age now Im not as bothered as I used to be about getting big, just having quality rather than quantity.

if you follow any calorie restricted diet and then "let loose" on the carbs, ofcourse you will gain fat... and depending on the surplus of calories, you might gain a lot of fat in a very short period of time.
the trick to not gaining any fat after a keto diet is just equate calories or just increase them by 200 to 300 and change your ratios. if you were doing 300 grams of protein, and 120 grams of fat... that's around 2300 cals... just switch to 2500 cals of carbs and protein but low fat (something like 250 gr protein, 300 gr carbs, 30-40 gr fat)... you will gain a lot of water weight the first week... hell, you can gain 15-20 lbs in that first week from the water retention and refilling glycogen... but after 7-10 days (and consistantly drinking a good amount of water and not overdoing the sodium) you will lose something like 10 lbs of water and your cuts that disappeared a week ago will come back...
most people get fat (i.e. myself) after a keto diet because we go from 2000 cals of protein and fat to 4000 cals of pure sugar and saturated fats... don't blame it on the carbs bro... :p
