question is why were they (police) looking in your closet? if the police get called to your house on a medical emergency they can't search your house. if they come in and your stash was in plain view they can not arrest you for it but they can take it. if it was not in plain sight no search of the house for anything they are there on a medical call not there with a search warrant again i ask why were they in your closet. not allowed to go into your closet on that call. unless of course someone gave them consent to (you or your wife) to search your house.
Not true especially if someone has ingested something and they need to find it quickly to save a life.
I will give you a Story of a guy named Larry (AKA Lex Luger).Well him and his girlfriend known to the public as Miss Elizabeth were out one night drinking and she was popping hydrocodones neither of them had a prescription for. They returned home and made meatloaf sandwiches and she fell off the coach and was not breathing. He called 911 and the ambulance took her to Kennestone hospital in Kennesaw ,Ga. heavy doses of Narcan and some other heroic measures they were unsuccessful at reviving her.
Larry was taken to the Police station after receiving the sad news.He thought he was there to fill out a statement, which he was,but as he thought he was ready to leave the Sheriff asked him to have a seat.Larry was told that his stash(AAS,narcotics) had been located in the bathroom of their condo and as sorry as they were about the loss of his girlfriend, they had no choice but to arrest him due to the nature of the crime and its documentation already filed.
Point being customs can make the decision to throw it in the garbage and send a letter. But locating it and removing it from your home without a charge is not their choice to make, purple heart plates or not.
If they did remove it and there is no record or write up on this, that is corrupt police work. They have destroyed evidence. They don't know what could happen at the hospital or what may come.
I hope it all works out for you either way.
