I am having shoulder surgery on Tuesday. I am an olympic lifter, hoping to make the 08 Olympic team. I am on right now. Will it have an effect during the surgery? They asked me if I was on and I lied. Is it something with the anesthesia?

I would call back and tell him yes you are on and tell him exactly what ur doing. Your health could be at risk here. Dont take peoples word on here that arent qualified physicians. What if a so called no it all says u will be fine then you get all f***** up due to complications, when all you had to do was say yes I am on.

Then there goes the 2008 Olympics for you.

You could possibly have trouble with your adrenal glands or hypertinsive issues with your blood. Its more important that your anesthesia provider know what your on vs. the sergeon. MAKE your anesthesiologist or CRNA aware of what your taking.

man get back with them and tell them yes. i had surgery three months ago and told them the truth. They were glad as it did make a difference what med's they gave me. Why are you guys always afraid to speak the truth. Worst thing that can happen. Lie and maybe it will cost you your life. How dumb.

Yes!!! and quit the orals right away if you are on. Steroids have a terrible effect on your blood clotting ability and if you dont stop bleeding they better know why.
