IF EVERYONE CARED!!!

Im sorry.. but the worlds biggest sellout of a band in history will never inspire me to do much more then end myself. This comming from someone who once lived in the small ass town those guys are from.

Yes, we need to do something about our sport/lifestype I agree.. Things are just getting worse.

It was not the band itself i was wanting you to look at but the song, lyrics, and stories.

Seriously i would bring my life and everything in it to a hault to help our freinds and support them in this manner, if i knew how to get it going or if someone set it up.

For two main reasons-

1. they have given our community so much and have helped us to live our dreams...

and 2. It is WRONG what is happening to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The strories...? Geldof didnt do much but make himself rich(er) and famous(er). The woman from Northern Ireland (where I live), who I'd never even heard of before, all she did was hold a rally... people hold marches and protests all the time, its never changed anything. As for Mandela I dont know much about the whole thing but I doubt he accomplished anything solid either.

I like the song and the band though. Look for their cover of ZZ Top's Sharp Dressed Man on Youtute.

What are you planning on doing? A John Brown type raid on Harpers Ferry?

I don't know what either of those things are, but if you have nothing to contribute to this thread, kindly GTF out of it! :)

I think its more a matter of we all feel powerless to do anything about it, and no politicians will support us. There is hope though in the Republican candidate Ron Paul. Check him out, he is for real and making a good run this time.

I know brother, it's just frustrating!

I do hope and pray Ron Paul wins!

While raising 150 million pounds for a cause that was, before then, unknown to much of the world.

Its a peace movement, one of many that finally led to peace between Ireland and Northern Ireland. If you think rallies have never changed anything, then you need to seriously read a history. Martin Luther King Jr. held rallies and that led to Civil Rights legislation in the US. Ghandi held rallies and that led to the independence of India. Yeah, rallies havent changed anything

As for Mandela I dont know much about the whole thing but I doubt he accomplished anything solid either..

This shows your ignorance of history. If you can even see that Mandela led a peace movement and became the first black president of a country that had institutionalized segregation and racism, then you really need to make google your friend at the very least.

Im not sure I understand what you are talking about. Sure the arrests and busts suck, but unjust?????? What they are selling is against the law and it is the chance they take to make money.

Laws have been repealed because they were bad laws, esp the ones made by hysteria. Prohibition of alcohol was rushed through a religious movement and that ended creating a lucrative role for organized crime. Now alcohol is legal, and how much crime do you from the mafia in regards to alcohol?

Steroid laws were passed through hysteria as well when that one retarded football player said that aas gave him cancer or whatever despite the fact that it is possible to safely use these substances.

It all boils down to the fact that the federal government has no right or authority outlined in the Constitution to tell someone what to drink, what to eat, or what to put in your body. It is unjust and not what we as a nation signed up for when creating this nation.

So I ask, for all Americans on this board, to:

VOTE RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE THIS LAW!!!!!!!

here's the thing

you play by THIER rules. you cannot expect to sell something that is illegal (whether YOU think it should be or not) and get caught and have nothing happen. the accessibility of steroids over the last few years is REDICULOUS! it SHOULDNT be like that. steroids ARE unsafe, whether people want to accept that fact or not, there are risks you take. fuck man, highschoolers are on them, thats not right. thier use (as a whole) obviously cannot be controlled BY people who use them so it must be controlled FOR them.

people bitching about getting busted and whatnot irritates the hell out of me. you live by the rules that govern you, if you do not like them, LEAVE or break them and suffer the appropriate consequences. people who sell AAS have no room to complain or bitch about getting popped. too bad, thats why there is such a profit made from it. play the game if you like, but dont bitch about losing.

guys.. we have a goverment run amuck.. we have a fda and dea absolutely going nuts .. we have a rec drug issue in this country that is skyrocketing but, we hear little about that.. money was wasted not on crack, meth , coke ect.. but, a drug that enhances one physique.. all drugs can hurt.. aspirin included ect.. but, lets have a better priority from our goverment.. teenagers should not get gear.. we know that.. but, they should not get alcohol or tobaccio either.. yet they do and the gov doesnt not make it a scheduled drug..until tobacco and alcohol are scheduled drugs, then steroids has no biz being there either..
now on to ron paul.. he is a loon.. i cant even look at the guy.. can he win?.. no.. do i hope he wins?.. yes.. but, couldnt the libertarians find a more appealing leader.. my goodness, tom selleck is a libertarian.. get some one that does not come off as a nut job.. if they could do that, they could actually have a third party pres in the whitehouse.. that being said.. it is time we stopped having our leader cater to moral codes to set up laws.. morality should not ever be the reasoning for a law.. we actually outlawed gear because many in congress saw it as cheating.. so if it is cheating then we should outlaw it for everyone.. not just make it illegal in the sport but, in society in general.. how idiotic is that???? we even have them using the "save the children" bullshit in regards to gear.. so, teenagers die veryuday in alcohol related accidents but, no bills are being passed to make it illegal..hhhhmmmm.. makes alot of sense doesnt it??
that being said... make a frickin statement.. vote for ron paul.. have ya had enough of a goverment running ruff shot over its citizens?.. then try him out.. if he even comes close, they will get the message.. can you imagine if everyone who ever took gear or is taking gear (millions and millions) actually voted for one man??.. can ya imagine if everone who had a loved one jailed for a joint voted?? this may be the only time you get this chance..

i agree with all your post but this:

so alcohol, which is by definition a drug, is ok now because it is legal? have you EVER had anyone you know killed by a drunk driver? i have. she was 25, and a very successful dancer (not a stripper), she had her life ripped from her because a drunk driver crossed the median and drove head on into her doing 80mph. now obviously drunk driving would still exist if alcohol were illegal, and yes there would be other crimes committed because alcohol is illegal. but you cant tell me there would be LESS people killed by drunk drivers overall.

how does the government not have a right to provide a set of rules for ALL to (hopefully) follow? if majority of the country votes for a certian person, then that person represents what majority of the country holds as right (or at least best in comparison to thier other options). they tell me i cannot put steroids into my body without meeting the proper medical criteria. am i going to listen to them if i want to be a 250lb bodybuilder come contest time? no, but i should be willing to accept the consequences of the actions i take to get me there. there is a lot more i could say, and we could argue this point into the ground as it has been done countless times before. i just thought i would contrast a few of your statements with some of my own, and try to help you see the other side of the arguement from which i have been affected by personally.

none of the above is intended to come off as combative:)

I agree, laws are laws, and if you choose not to follow them, take your licks and suck it up. However, I also believe that with the severely limited evidence against AAS, I believe the illegalization of them was rash and inspired by overzealous politicians seeking higher approval ratings. In the end, there is only one argument needed, whether or not AAS is safe or dangerous, since it has been proven to have at least some benefits. TOBACCO. Find me a health benefit of that shit.

I guess the higher you get in the US gov't ladder, the more people start to look like $$$.

Kinda funny how the law works? The thing is to look at the fact that what we do in the privacy of our homes in none of the government's business.

have you EVER had anyone you know killed by a drunk driver? i have. she was 25, and a very successful dancer (not a stripper), she had her life ripped from her because a drunk driver crossed the median and drove head on into her doing 80mph. now obviously drunk driving would still exist if alcohol were illegal, and yes there would be other crimes committed because alcohol is illegal. but you cant tell me there would be LESS people killed by drunk drivers overall.

Im not following, are you saying that if alcohol were illegal then there would be fewer drunk driving accidents? Im also not following the relevance of this point because drunk driving affects others, drinking, smoking, or using aas in your home does just harms you if you dont abuse it (i.e. smoke in your backyard to avoid secondary smoke, avoiding alcohol if you know you do things that fucks with other people's rights such as getting abusive, drunk driving, etc).

how does the government not have a right to provide a set of rules for ALL to (hopefully) follow?
The rules are in place to make sure you minimize or avoid the impact on others rights (i.e. hitting others, raping, etc.).

if majority of the country votes for a certian person, then that person represents what majority of the country holds as right (or at least best in comparison to thier other options). they tell me i cannot put steroids into my body without meeting the proper medical criteria. am i going to listen to them if i want to be a 250lb bodybuilder come contest time? no, but i should be willing to accept the consequences of the actions i take to get me there.

The point is that 1) the country didnt vote for this, and 2) its an impractical law (cant stop demand), and 3)is contradictory in application because AAS does have health benefits as does marijuana but I have yet to see an health benefits from cigarettes.

none of the above is intended to come off as combative:)
Not taken that way ;)

While raising 150 million pounds for a cause that was, before then, unknown to much of the world.

As far as I know there are still people dying of starvation and dirty water, etc. etc., or at least thats what the TV ads tell me, so thanks to Mr Geldof for letting us know, but theres not much we can do about it since the marjority of the population still struggles to pay their OWN bills. Im sure for 150million u could have plumbed in clean water to most of the country, but alas, it aint been done. Seems to me all that dough hasnt gone where it should....

Its a peace movement, one of many that finally led to peace between Ireland and Northern Ireland.

I was going to respond to this by typing 'hahahahahahahaha' for as long as it would let me, but, since its not a joke, I wont. I dont know what CNN told you, but it must be very far from the truth, very very far.

I really dont care since I dont live there, and my own government, whilst far from perfect, isnt completely stupid.

In the UK millions (or perhaps even billions) of £'s of revenue is lost through the smuggling and sale of cheap booze and tobacco. Both products are also counterfeited. So id say the organized criminals are doing pretty well out of it.

Steroid laws were passed through hysteria as well when that one retarded football player said that aas gave him cancer or whatever despite the fact that it is possible to safely use these substances.

Here in the UK we dont have a problem with them, we can juice all we want.

As for Ron Paul, if he actually gets elected and is able to change your gear laws (for the better...), instead of just living it up on his huge salary and ignoring the people who voted for him, ill eat a hard-copy of this very post.

Theres been a lot of investment in Africa, but the movements have been from grassroots organizations which takes a longer time to develop since the many African governments are horribly corrupt. The point is that people are mobilized to now chip away at the problem rather than let it rot and continue.

Perhaps, but with all due respect, if you dont seem to be aware of very much yourself if you havent noticed Mandela or activists in your country.

If you dont care and admit to not knowing much about the subject, then how can you assert that Mandela didnt do anything solid?

I should have prefaced that statement that it was in regards to the history of the US. Since I dont know much about prohibition in the UK, I cant really comment on that.

Here in the UK we dont have a problem with them, we can juice all we want.

Then voting for Ron Paul isnt really an issue for you (unless youre very caught up on international affairs). If you could vote, Id want you to as well, but the Ron Paul message is for the US members on this board who are tired of big government telling them what to do in the privacy of their own homes.

As for Ron Paul, if he actually gets elected and is able to change your gear laws (for the better...), instead of just living it up on his huge salary and ignoring the people who voted for him, ill eat a hard-copy of this very post.

I hope youre hungry ;)

If you think that steroids are too accessable and that kids are at risk, then take a look at other countries where posession of AAS is not illegal. Do those countries have a big problem with young people hurting themselves? Ive never heard of any issues, and if there were I am sure that those countries would pass legislation to make them illegal. What makes our country, the US, so different from other countries? Our country is backward about so many things.
