For the guys who think everyone is on steroids .. genetics

An under-rated component of genetics is how your body can absorb ancillaries such as GH and steroids.

We see it all the time on this sub. Joe X takes a relatively low dose of test and their BP is through the roof, instant gyno, and poor blood work.

From coaching youth football for over a decade the differences in kids is insane. Both from a musculature and athletic point of view.

One thing that always struck me was that kids who hit puberty early, 11/12 year olds, usually ended up being smaller compared to kids who hit puberty later on. Not 100% but I saw this play out numerous times.
That’s still considered genetics. We tend to view it as a “the ability to LOOK like a BBer” thing when there are 100 other “genetic” factors.

Do u have the genetics to grooow? Like strictly put on tissue.
Do u have the genetics to get lean and suffffer to get there?
Do u have the genetics to eattt?
Do u have the genetics to handle drugs, and high dosage drugs with that.
Do u have the genetics to handle this for quite awhile? This isn’t a get in, get out sport.

Lots of BBer check a couple boxes. Olympia guys probably hit alll of them to an extent.

Actually I think most guys are on steroids lol. Tons of guys at my gym are on steroids, I know because they tell me. I have young’s kids asking me what peptides and sarms to stack with their gear. Gear use these last 5 yrs has become extremely common place due to social media.

Funny though because even with rampant use I really don’t see many impressive physiques and rarely do I see people train with intensity anymore. It’s all about stimulus to fatigue ratio now and everyone knows heavy compound lifts cause to much darn fatigue so gotta stick to pec flys an leg extensions.
Agree with this. Ive been Reading on a natural forums more lately just because...I find training talk interesting and it seems like on AAS users boards it's just all drug talk now days...like 300mg of this vs that is super important lol...or talk about what meds to take to minimize health issues.But the shit you Read on natural boards is idiotic...all about the science...I'm an evidence based trainer... stimulus to fatigue ratio...reps in reserve...as long as you hit everything 2x a week...menno...Dr Mike...Chris Beardsley...."junk volume"...God forbid someone trains to failure they might die. They think the only way you could grow without hitting everything 2x a week is if your on AAS.

I mean, tbf same goes for training. 3 sets of this vs three sets of that. The minutia of many aspects of this sport usually rarely matter that greatly in the big picture.
 
People hate hearing about how much bodybuilding is dependant on genetics because it will make some people feel shutout.
While it's true that superior genetics is essential for top-level competition, 90% of the people training today have no intention of going on stage, never mind cracking the top ten at the Mr. O.

Even without crazy genetics every one of us can be so much better, bigger, and harder with proper diet, training, and yes PED use.
Don't let non-Superman level genetics dissuade you from achieving personal goals.

That's a great perspective!! It's easy to get discouraged thinking "Oh, I'll never look like X, or Y". But like you mentioned significant progress can be made nonetheless no matter what genetics or lack thereof we have! And in the end I just need to focus on being better than I was yesterday, not anyone else.
 
I trained 25 years as a natural, and so I understand the frustration of working hard and seeing only slow improvement. But 2-3 pounds of lean mass per year over 20 years is still a decent amount, and you tend to be reasonably hard with decent muscle maturity. I then trained for about 10-12 years with TRT plus (200-250mg/wk test with var or winny thrown in periodically), continued the slow and steady gains. The gear gave me more of a 3D look and helped me with recovery.

Now I've added the GH and periodically NPP, and the 3D look is more pronounced. I'm certainly not a top physique on this board, but for a guy almost 60 years old, I've got the best physique for my age at my gym. I guess I'm a medium fish in a small pond! LOL
