Steroids and the effects on heart

Sadly many studies are done to confirm a bias belief or to sell more of X drug. It doesn’t make for an objective study.

In this case the doctor and researcher would argue the testosterone was the “root cause” of the elevated BP, inflammation and processes that “truly” led to the LVH.

If only the human body was that black and white.
100% agree with you, Idk if you watched the Super Bowl, but Hims and Hers ran an ad talking about how Americans are 74% overweight, big pharma is a 160 billion dollar industry, and they profit off making you unhealthy and you should take your life back. I was super intrigued to see where this was going then they proceeded to advertise compounded semaglutide and all I could think is they just want to push their drug and make it seem like they’re helping you when in reality they are still a pharma, just without the middle man. Not a crazy relation to what we’re discussing but it just reminded me of how even pharmas compete to push their products over others, which also happens in scientific literatures and bias’s like you said, they just happened to do it on a massive public platform with no evidence for their product but rather “you should buy from us because we’re different”.

I saw it. Welcome to big pharma- they pay for studies as it’s a means to sell more of their product. Sure there’s more to it on other areas, but they’re a business. And who sells their product? Doctors.

But that’s a different rant and thread for a different day. Lol

A vast majority of published literature, either be association or causation should be interpreted with skepticism. There's been Nobel Prize winners in biomedical research that have had several of their papers retracted due to plagiarism or total mischievously favoring outcomes.

In such regards. We need to thank a super incredibly nice researcher, Elisabeth Bik, PhD for her investigations into hundreds of flawed literature. I've chatted with her on a few occasions. Very nice helpful lady.

I am by absolutely ZERO MEANS any sort of expert here but it seems like the following factors come into play (anyone please throw your BS Meter at me, I often need it, I’m just spitballing some here):

1) Genetic predisposition
2) Non AAS Environmental factors
3) AAS Environmental factors

At physiological doses, I think it’s minimal impact on the heart and arteries.

It’s a race against time, similar to cancer, meaning…

Let’s say we are all capable of living until we’re 200 but, bc of cancer, and the limit of cell division, etc, cancer would eventually get us. If we get Prostate Cancer (that hasn’t Metastasized) at age 80, it’s highly unlikely it will kill you before something else does.

I think it’s similar with AAS use. If it’s heavy enough and abused, unless you’re in a great spot with 1 and 2 above, it’s likely to catch up with you eventually cardiac wise. If it’s managed and not abused heavily, it’s not highly likely to eventually cause major cardiac problems UNLESS 1 and 2 are also factors.

I participated in the study some years ago by Dr Harrison Pope. He teamed up with a few top Doctors in the world and published a paper on the hardening of the arteries from steroid use. I had the publication, but not currently. You may be able to find it online with some searching. One thing he did say was that the underground will always be about 10 years ahead of doctors and medicine because of the red tape BS. That doesn't mean to disregard what your doctor says so take it in jest.

and the only thing researchers have to do is add 'there is no conflict of interest' (no one check it) at the end of the study. I have seen many studies that went public and were carried out by a company owner and his scientist team. Of course, no one would know that, as the owner doesn't officially admit he has anything to do with the particular company... So in this case they didn't even outsource it.. they just did it themselves..

They made me take a test before my surgery it came back enlarged left ventricle. I had to sign a waiver to get surgery. I have been on and off for 28 years. Is it just an athletic heart or an issue? I am not really sure but my resting heart rate is very high despite exercising daily.
