Iliotibial band

When doing quad injections I know the front quad is ideal but is it ok to use the side of the leg in the iliotibial band area? Will the oil penetrate muscle and absorb in that area? Thanks

You will have a very painful experience if you inject into that fascia tissue. You can certainly find spots up and down the VL but I would not recommend directly lateral on the thigh.

ok I was just curious because I slid around kind of toward the outside of my quad on both legs with a 1” pin and just assumed muscle wrapped around. I need to brush up on body anatomy. No pain with either inject so I guess it’ll be all good. Thanks

I injected mine today by accident with an insulin syringe (.2mL) and it was very painful.

Sorry that happened to you but it makes me feel better about mine. I used 1" and had no pain at all. Test E in one leg and Deca in the other. Thanks

I also dont recommend doing it on the side. I once had an injection that swelled a good amount and ended up suffering a tear when squatting heavy. I ended up tearing that part of my leg, I think much of the damage was the fascia. Sounded like a t shirt ripping. Tore right where the injection was.

The actual injection never hurt me, had to apply a lot of pressure to pierce through the fascia.

Thanks for the reply. I definitely won't slide down the side again. I don't recall having to use any more pressure than normal. I think maybe I got in the lower area of muscle. I hope anyway. Thanks again.

Yeah, higher up is where its thicker. Down low you can get in easy.

I, for sure, injected into the fascia so that might be the difference in mine. Still sore hours later.
