Increasing insulin sensitivity ?

Hahhahahhhahha

I was just saying that i have noticed being more sensitive since dropping body fat is all... There is no way i could go long periods no carbs and not eating.. Especially after a workout.... On top of that i wouldnt be able to stand the mood i would be in and either would the people around me!! haha

BUT.............you are missing out on being very insulin sensitive!
 
there is nothing that ever suggested it is better to have carbs on workout days and no carbs on rest is better or helps with sensitivity (it's just a fad and boils down to calories and that's what helps you lose the fat... why not eat higher cals of protein and fat on workout days, and lower cals from mostly carbs on non workout days?)

God I love that!!! ....if only everyone could grasp this <sigh>
 
and if your not using insulin what is the benifit of increasing your insulin sensitivity?
To get a better response from a carb up?

I'll concur with that. Just ask any diabetic, who probably never touched slin prior to becoming such. Sensitivty is crucial, slin or not.
 
OK , so is the concern with reducing your insulin resistance stemming from wanting to be easier to manipulate your natural production or to reduce the amount of insulin you need to administer?

Both reason seem logical to me , it just seems that if one were going to inject insulin that they should probaly look into taking gulcophage or somthing on their off days rather than try to use some other less productive method.

Insulin acts on both muscle cells and fat cells. Greater muscle cell insulin sensitivity has two advantages: 1) there will be a greater increase in protein synthesis from a given amount of circulating insulin (synthetic or otherwise) and 2) ceteris paribus, a larger proportion of glucose will be transported into muscle cells rather than fat cells resulting in superior nutrient partitioning.
 
The less BF % the higher your insulin sensitivity will be.
