Ok last saturday my boy called me up and wanted me to go out he said meet us at the casino so i decided to go , when i arrived my boy was all messed up on ghb coke and whatever else lol i said yo you ok bro hes like yea come meet my boss im like aight , so i head over to the black jack table and meet his boss , then i realized his boss was just blowing thro money like it was nothing , i also observed his watch was the size of his fist diamond studded and he had on a large silver ring with diamonds all over it , anyways we decided to hit the strip club which i havent been to in a yr , so his boss gives the vallet dude his number and the dude comes back in a bentley , now im like wtf ?? so we all hop in and head over to the strip club theres a line people all around , but we pull up in the bently and vallet runs out like madmen , we walk right into the club and into the VIP lounge room its the only room like it there and is elevated from the floor so nobody sitting on the floor seats can see wtf goes on in here , now hes ordering striper after striper like there dogs he tells them there commands , im sitting here in shock , we order i dont know how many rounds of doubles and coke is everywhere along with everything else , at this point i was pretty wasted , i get talking to his boss and ask him how old he was , he says 27 and begins to tell me he just bought a 5 million dollar home he owns three cars each over 100k and owns his own mortgage company??? he proceeds to tell me he wants me to work for him and says he will train me fully and i could be working with my boy along side of him , my boy just cleared 20k this month i saw his check and he was a personal trainer so im thinking if his ass can do it anyone can .

I thought hard about this and decided to go into the office for a walk thro , i then realized it was alot of paper work phone calls and sitting behind a desk, i also realized that im not a money hungry shark like these people , my boy is like a crack head when it comes to making money:) well i thought about it and realized its not me , im just not cut out to be this kinda guy , i kept thinking about my girl that entire night i just wanted to be with her , and the more i think about it i would have to stop Bbing almost completly , he wanted 10hour days and 1 lunch break so id only be eating a bit here an there?? i just cant do that.

My question would be is there anybody whos in this line of work and do they like it or are they burned out from it , yea the moneys sick you can make up to 50k a month but is that worth changing your entire life around ? any advice would help .

myself and another member I am close with is in this business as well. I'm looking at clearing 40K this month and. I typically work from 9-7, I am behind a desk half the day and out on appointments with clients, realtors, builders etc, the rest of the day. I tke off when I want, eat when I want, do bascially whatever I want. It's a good business to be in, with your look, you could walk into a realtors office and they would take care of you. It's not tough work to be honest with you, you're gonna work, but it's more about getting yourself out there and hustling more than anything else. If you have anymore questions lemme know.

What would you go to school for to get in to this kind of work? -StOrY-

you don't need a college degree. Listen, I know I made it sound easy, but my work background is pretty extensive and I have alot of connections. I used to work for an interactive media company that produced HD Video, film, animation, DVD rom, websites, etc. I spearheaded deals with the Chicago White Sox, Upper Deck trading cards, multiple record labels. So, for me to call on realtors and builders is a piece of cake. I also know the real estate market very well and have concentrated my efforts in the right areas. Knowing what I know of Vander, and making some assumptions, I think he would be a perfect fit. It's not for everyone, but if you're outgoing, people are drawn to you, have half a brain, and have a large network of people, you can make alot of money in this business.

u have to think....

is that the life u want? What matters most to u in life: money, power, love, BBing, family. I know I would be miserable behind a desk all day and unable to workout. I do know that money makes things a lot easier in life but it is not everything. Would u rather do something u love and get paid less, or do something u hate and get paid much more? As for the coke, booze, u dont need that spec with the lifestyle u r living. U just had a health issue why bring more to ur plate with that shit???? The strip club I can understand hahaha all my friends can vouge for my well endowed boob fetish hahah. Id say analyze what means the most to u then look at what u will be compromising and if u feel the benefits outweigh the consequences then do it. I say follow ur heart and ur gut instinct itll lead u.

Thats exactly what my girl said , she said follow your heart , i just think in the end ill end up miserable in this kind of job , plus i dont need money that badly so my drive would prolly be lesser then the guy next to me , i dunno man its confusing and a tuff call im still debating what to do.

thats alot to give up to me. But its all relative, you have to do what fits for you.

Yo V, You still have a website up ???????

holy shit 50gs a month...i couldnt imagine that....whole lotta money to give up....

I would definately do it, unless like you said you could not get all your meals in and workouts in during the week. I know that sounds stupid, but I couldnt stop doing what I have been doing for so long....working out so hard for years and not be able to eat or lift.

The only person who can say whether it is worth it or not worth it is you.

One thing is certain; you can always give something a try and if you don't like it, go back to personal training.

But assuming that his company is the real deal and if your friend really does clear 20k checks, most people would consider themselves lucky to have the opportunity.

Of course i get no credit here lol. Well il state what i said to Vander again anyway lol....

I dont care how much money it is, i wouldnt trade my happiness for money. I wont work a job i hate and dread goin to work every single day and watch the clock all day. I would rather love my job and make decent money and be happy.

Agreed

But not everyone has the luxury to do that. I'm sure people who are coal miners don't love their job but it is good money. I bet they would rather work out all day too. If V makes enough cash doing what he enjoys, then there is no need to do it.

However, if he wishes to increase his assets or build his savings for a future family, then it may be something to consider.

This isn't a question anyone on this board can answer for him.

My uncle does mortgages and he is not a slave to his job. He lifts weights himself eats food right at his desk. I don't see why someone could not bodybuild just because they have a full time job?

Money isn't everything...
Sure the guy is making money hand over fist but getting wasted doing coke and hanging out in strip joints shows that that there's something missing.
I'd rather be happy than rich and miserable.

I was in you same boat man...

Vander I was literally right in the position where you are at up until about a month ago, then everything kinda came together for what I wanted to pursue in life. I kept asking all of the same questions you asked to my girlfriend( which by the way she is new on here and a resident physchologist.....strongmind). She gave me the same advice to me as yours did and has supported me with everything I have choosen to do. I went and met with my old bosses I worked with, I talked with Guys I know that are extremely wealthy, sucessful, happy, guys that seemed to have the world by the tail. I asked question after question trying to see what I want out of my life. I have talked with IaBadman on here a bunch a times and talked with him about at least a handdful of different business venture ideas I have been thinking about to get his perpspective.

I was sitting in my global sales meeting about a month ago, listening to some boring power point slide presentation about some product I don't even sell, thinking about building a new business, doing something I would love and things started to come together. I looked around and I was the youngest guy there in a room full of salesman from all over the world, most of them old enough to be father and I am thinking to myself, " Is this what it is gonna be for the rest of my life?, meetings, deadlines, quotas, bonuses, incentives, and a company car if you are good enough, a solid 401 K and your are out to pasture, a cog in the corporate machine??". Granted they are great jobs and some gentlemen there make ALOT of money and love them, but its just not for me. I have done the whole mortgage thing too, made a shitload of money worked a shit-ton of hours, partied like a rockstar with all my mortgage buddies and wasn't happy about my life at all that was for damm sure. It was that point sitting in those meetings that what I was putting on paper right there was what I wanted to do with my life.....and the answers to my questions I had come to me.

There has been a pretty good debate going on Motivation and Inspiration in which I outlined my "catharsis" if you will, where I had the answers to the questions I have asked myself many times, here is the post:

You know as I have gotten older my definition of "success" has changed greatly as I have always wanted to "make alot of money" and live comfortably. As I have progressed through my career lately I have tried to quantify what "alot of money meant" how much is alot? How do I define living comfortably? how do I know when I have alot? I have tried to answer that question and found that I would never be happy with alot that I would always want more.

More importantly than that I have also realized that I need to pursue my passions rather than chase after making alot of money, I realized that my passions that I have are great ideas (money) and by that I know that by following them I will be happy and sucessful, the money will be there it will come by following my dreams and creating a strong and business plan that can remain flexible and shift around certain market factors, and following through on the plan.

I might not have a bunch of cars, a humungous house, take a bunch of trips around the world, but I know that I will be happy cause I do what I love and that will make me rich, but I am pretty sure that the money will come if I pursue what I love with passion, determination, smart decsionmaking, some business moxy, some good timing and I will have everything I have ever desired and want out of my life.

I did it. Hated it. BUT I learned how to sell. I also did a write up in this thread a couple of weeks back:

http://www.professionalmuscle.com/forums/showthread.php?p=160937#post160937

I learned how to sell too, which is good I also learned alot of other very useful business skills along the way too, most of them have come from my most recent job working in Corporate America. I will walk away from this job one day having picked up alot of "learnings" from it that is for sure....

Another thing to look at is this: In that business, alot of times it is tiered so that there are a couple of guys above you that make money (override is what they call it) off of what you sell. In other words they get a percentage. Another thing to realize is that someone that is at the top of the company like that really doesn't sell anything to the public. He sells his workers. He has gotten so good at sales that he knows how to sell a salesman into a position to make HIM money. Not sure if this helps, but there are some things to outweigh. Like I said, I did it, and it turned out to be the best and worst thing I ever did. I learned how to sell, but HATED the job.

Also, be careful which end of the mortgage business you get into. The whole Lending Tree thing will probably die off a little after the rates go up and people stop refinancing all together. The place you want to be in from my experience is the home sales end. You'll be involved in real estate agencys and they will feed you work. Usually there are silent pay offs because it is illegal to give a kickback. But your company can do something like rent space from them in their building that usually pays the whole mortgage per month for the real estate agency. This happens every day. Anyway, my suggestion is to find out if they are primarily home sales or primarily refi. Stay away from the refi end and go for purchases if you want a long career in it.

I just don't understand the mentality that you can't train and get meals in while working?!? Vander is in a unique situation, but I cannot understand why someone would choose to struggle financially for the sake of having larger muscles. I train at 7AM 5 days a week, eat while I work, am constantly out and meeting new people and working on my own real estate transactions. At 27 years old I own two houses (a house in the suburbs and a condo in the city), have nice cars, have alot of money in savings, I plan on retiring by the tim the city I'm 35. You have to bite the bullet and do what is necessary, I do not want to be in my 50's and working towards my retirement, or possibly looking at working my ass off well into my 60's. I want my kids to be taken care of, I want my wife to be taken care of. Also, Vander, I would not work with those ass clowns you wrote about in your post, if they're living the Scarface lifestyle, they are not on the up and up. Also, a nice thing about mortgages is you can work it as little or as much as possible. Get a couple loans a month, it's an extra 5-6K in your pocket, more than most make in a month. Money and material things are not everything, but I'll be honest, it's f'n fun to have them. No matter what industry you are in, if you want to make REAL money, you have to work your ass off and be aggressive.

Negotiate

Why don't you talk to the guy and ask him if it is OK for you to work out at lunch before you take the job. Usually if you are putting in all of the hours they don't care if you take an hour and a half lunch, and a little time here and a little time there. You are making up for it with all of the extra hours. I work behind a desk all day, and I cook all of my meals on Wednesdays and Sundays, and bring what I need to work, and workout everyday at lunch time. Nowadays a lot of companies will pay for a gym membership because it helps keep health insurance costs down. You'd be surprised how many little things you can negotiate bofore you take a job.
