Depends on what makes one "BETTER" in your mind....I would say he is the bottom of the list as far as guitar players.....Randy Rhodes, eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, Jeff Beck, Tommy Emmanuel and the list goes on.......
I have Steve Vai and Van Halen at the top... however, I do like Joel Kosche I just don't think he's anywhere near the pinnacle of guitar players. To each his own tho
I worked out in Mesa AZ with a guy named George........my friend came to the gym one day and said, " THAT'S GEORGE LYNCH" ............I said,....... and??

Jeff Beck
Yngwie Malmsteen
Tony Iommi
Jimi Hendrix
Joe Satriani
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Billie Gibbons
Jimmy Page
Eric Clapton
Steve Vai
Eddie Van Halen
Carlos Santana
and of course Robert Johnson, the guy sold his soul to the devil just to play better than anyone up to that point!
Steven Vai is incredible,he doesn't fit well with complete bands though.
He did great for a few years with David Lee Roths solo albums.
He is best in a solo type atmosphere where he is the show case.Problem is it's hard to watch a whole concert of guitar solo, that has been a problem for Vai's career.
