Is there anything I can take pre-fight for extra wind?

I have a judo tournament on Sunday and was wondering if theres anything I can take prior to my matches to help a little with stamina/endurance? I heard that some people take a large dose of Sudafed, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
 
Get an Albuterol inhaler from your doctor. It really opens up the airways.

I've used clen, ephedrine and albuterol. For me, ephedrine has always worked best for breathing, energy and endurance.

I wouldn't suggest the Halo as I used to think the same thing. Took some before a football game and just wasn't right, and not in a good way. Take some Potasium Citrate and mix with gatorade. It's a buffer to the lactic acid. Bycyclists use this stuff alot. Should allow for alittle more stamina.

Have done grappling but want to get into strikes and mma but I hear thats illegal in NY

Oh yeah I have tried inhalers at tourneys I would recommend that over ephedra get a couple hits right before

Phosphates are proven to increase aerobic capacity

FSI Nutrition VO2 Max has worked very well for me in the past. Unfortunately it's discontinued. I'd look into using a similar product if you can find it. Maybe something like K-Phos Neutral.

Just realized after posting last night that I had already posted an answer four years ago in this very same thread, i think it's safe to assume the fight is over by now

Great advice for a stomach ache. I'd start a bit lower at less than a teaspoon.

Wow...interesting. I have never heard of that before...anyone else know about this, and if it is infact true.
 
^ it works its kinda like beta-alanine (endurance).

it also makes me very vascular.

Phil has posted that he uses, or used, sodium bicarbonate for lactic acid buffering.
 
I think we should be careful with blocking lactic acid too much. the lower blood ph causes gh release but for serious athletes it is a good idea, actually im just rambling...

they also use baking soda for the same reason. 200-300 mg/kg.
around 25-30 grams an hour or so before. it's really effective.
tho, there's alotta sodium yr ingesting at once.
