ok most of you all know that im bustin ass trying to turn pro before im at least 21 (lol just a small goal i have for myself). so anyways a while back in july i was going to do the usa's in the fitness division, and i got a phone call from a head judge (wont say her name) saying that shes sorry about the situation but canadians cannot compete in national shows in the US, she also said that competitors must have an american birth certifcate..(this is news to me!!) so because of that I did the north americans..where canadians can compete in the US for pro status. then recently i decided id like to do the canadian nationals in april 2005, i conatcted the promoter of the show and he said that i must reside in canada 6 months prior to nationals and qualify at a regional show up there to qualify for canadian nationals...

) ISNT A 4TH PACE FINISH IN AN AMERCIAN NATIONAL SHOW GOOD ENOUGH TO QUALIFY FOR CANADIAN NATIONALS?? I HAVE A PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD TO LIVE HERE IN THE US. IT ALLOWS ME TO ANYTHING EXCEPT TO VOTE....THATS THE ONLY THING I CANT DO HERE (VOTING I DONT GIVE 2 SHITS ANYWAY) DOES IT EVER SAY THAT I CANNOT COMPETE NATIONALLY IN MY SPORT ?? NO!!! AND NOW I CANT EVEN COMPETE IN MY OWN COUNTRY WTF???? I hope im missing some important info that i havent come across yet, so if any of u are canadian going thru the same kinda situation or know anything about the qualifications, lemme know! thanks in advance.

That's right. Who the hell needs to know where you live anyway?
As far as I know, you never stepped foot out of Montreal all your life. I can even give you a reference stating that I have been your next door neighbour for the last 20 years.

Only tell them what they need to know so you can achieve your purpose, so you can compete.

man REA that is pretty shitty how the rules work. its like you a screwed either way you go about it. i would do like Big A sais and just say you are living there are try and use someone elses residence.. im sure they arent that strick.

and btw, i also want to be included in the group of people who have no lives, i just woke up from my saturday night nap.. lol.. my GF just called me on her way home from work and i was so damn tired i didnt even know what day it was, ir i was late for work, or what the hell was going on

Makes you wonder how so many of the athletes in the Olympics live in the US go to US colleges and are trained by US trainers BUT they actually do NOT compete for the US but for some other country, do it.

But like was mentioned here, there areways around the bullshit.
I know guys that have 3 state titles from 3 different states while only living in one but used a freinds or relatives address in that state when they competed...gotta love the NPC.

My wife is in same situation, she is from australia and in order to do a national level show she must go back home... i know the judge you are talking about , i am good friends with her .. it's just the rules of the npc[ yes it sucks]
But from what i gather, if my wife was to get her citizenship in u.s. she could do national level shows.[ i believe the judge told me that]i know quite a few men and women who werent born here that have competed... maybe its something to look into....
