this is just to infrom anyone who will place an order for lba's in the future:

i recently recieved 1 case of lba's, for which i placed an order after paying for my the cost of my lba's plus £60.00 for postage (to the uk) which i paid to phil fully and was told was the total cost.

since i recieved my product i have since been given a number of letters form fedex demanding a payment of £60.00 for postage of this. i contacted phil and forwarded the letter, to which i was told the charge was not for the product i purchased as i paid for that in full.he asked if it was possible it was a tax charge (which i have never paid for inported items).

so i ignored the payment notice. however, i rang them up today (as it has been given to another company to collect the paymeny, and i need to pay immediately) and asked what it was for.the lady told me it was' import duty tax for my parcel from all american aefx pharmacy which was for some type of supplement'

i told phil about this and asked how i can resolve the situation, he said " i have many customers there.I had no idea that your country charges you this neither does AAEFX." "can you fight it"

all i know is after placing my order, i have recieved an additional large charge that i was not aware i would recieve on top of the large charge i knowingly paid for my product and delivery, and supposedly i am the 1st and only one to recieve this.

i am now stuck with a charge that i was not expecting nor willing to pay for and will struggle to pay it now.

i have no other option than to take care of this matter myself and pay out some more money (which i would not have previously been willing ) which i dont have

i asked phil if he can post a thread, or can can comment a thread i posted (to which he agreed) to make future and existing customers aware of this, as i dont want anyone else to be in my position

LET ME BE THE FIRST TO SAY THAT SUCKS...SORRY TO HEAR

In many countries, including here if the total value of the goods brought in exceeds a certain amount then you will pay import duty. Check with your customs and find out what the maximum value of goods allowed in duty free is. Then just make sure the invoice does not exceed that amount. End of problem. ;) A little creativity on the shipping end can solve this problem.............!

guys from the uk who have orderd a case, speak up? am i the only one?

what does Phil put down as the description on the consignment note? if he put it down as a present or gift that may have been a way around it for future

HERE IS THE PROBLEM

I DO NOT SEND THEM.........I DO NOT WORK FOR THE COMPANY............I JUST SAVE YOU MONEY FROM THE WHOLESALE PRICE........THEY SHIP THEM.

I did pay for import tax too, albeit not of such value, 19$ Canadian. Its a hassle but what can we do eh.

i also

have to pay import tax when i order LBA's. for 2 cases i have to pay EUR 60. Whenever a shipment exceeds $300 customs will check your order and send you an import tax receipt. At least this is how it works in the netherlands.
Its a bitch, but hey those are the rules. If you dont want to pay, then dont buy them.

one solution is to put a different value on the box/shipping note. But all american aefx pharmacy has to do this.

I just got 2 cases of LBAs and got stung for £60 import duty.

Its a pain but thats life, its not down to Phil in any way to inform potential customers, he just gets us a decent price on them.

Valid suggestion by oldfella.

Suck it up bro and at least you know for next time :)

I allways have to pay import tax if i order from the us. For 8 cases of lba & 6 bottles of kre-alkalyn i paid 330€ tax (475 USD). Still cheaper then buying here in Belgium.

I just sent Phil a PM for a quote on 3 cases of LBA.Think its best i dont go ahead now :( I usually buy them in the UK,but it seems every supplier is out of Chocolate Flavour.I got a case of Strawberry which is awful ! Unless EFX dont declare the correct value, seems you will get taxed.Especially by FedEx.They are a pain in the ass !

I don't think it has anything to do with EFX. My brother buys comic books from the us and always has to pay import taxes.

they cannot charge import duty on gifts or commercial samples of little/no value. They can only charge it on commercial sales over a certian amount.

So, simply ask phil to put on the documentation that it is a commercial sample with a value of $5-10.

Problem solved.

wonder if TPs brand would get charged as much??

phats

It has nothing to do with which company makes them.

I too live in the UE and also used to order lba's delivered from the US thanks to Phil's discount.

EACH SINGLE TIME (last one was about 1 year ago) I had to pay huge fees to Fedex... around 200 euros per 3 cases! That's about 600 euros for 3 orders ($900  )

There's nothing you can do about it... pay or change the import laws of your country.

My advice if you live in Europe: find an online distributor that ships from within the EU... this way, due to mutual free trade agreements between countries you won't pay a single tax. :)

You would be surprised.

I have ordered supplements, electrical producs, training products etc off DOZENS of companies who do exactly this. Works every single time. I can PM you the name of several large and reputable companies who do this for their companies and it works.

Some larger companies will not be willing to write on the documentation that it is a commercial sample......but many will, if you simply ask them to do so.

If you think about it, what I am saying makes perfect sense......customs handles thousands of packages per day. LBA's would constitute a TINY proportion of these packages. Customs almost NEVER have time to scrutinize the value of of each package and their contents. The sheer volume of packages that they must process each day, means that the only thing they have time to look at is the oficial documentation which has been included with the order. If the documentation says that it is a commercial sample worth only $10 (or a gift) they almost never question it. They simply do not have the time to do so.

Perhaps if they were receiving hundreds of packages per week from the same company they may become suspicious....however, this would not be the case with LBA's. They would have no real reason to question the official documentation.

Bottom line.....customs almost always work off the official documentation and very rarely question it.

I MEAN, COME ON........THESE GUYS ARE NOT IDIOTS.....10$ FOR 3 CASES?? AHAAHA

But you are presuming that customs would be familiar with the retail value of LBA's.

In any case you would be labelling it a commercial sample....not a commercial sale. You could label it as a comercial sample with $0 if you liked.....or you could label it as a gift (a commercial sample would be better though as you could still include your sales & company documentation)

In any case....how could customs make any sort of guess as to the value of LBA's?? For all they know,$10 for 3 cases could be completely reasonable.

Very rarely will customs even open a package unless they have reason to do so...they will simply look at the documentation.....see it is amino acids...see it is a commercial sample from a company and pass it through.

If customs have no reason to arouse their suspicion (like many hundreds of cases of "commercial samples" passing into the country per week) then they have no reason to question the legtimacy of the package, it's contents or it's value.

Believe me guys...I'm not simply making this up and am only trying to lend you a bit of help. Getting charged hundreds of dollars in import duties is bound to discourage people fro ordering LBA's and I'm just offering a little advice for a way around it. If you like I can PM you the names of several companies in the US who do the very same thing when shipping to me in Europe....and it works every time I order.
