I would like to start a reference thread that we can all learn from and can go back to and learn new tricks of the trade from the rest of the board that we may have not known. Over the past 15+ years I have learned many things from others and from experimenting on myself. Here is a few of the things I find very important for me personally that I have learned over the years.

1-I do not need 5000000 grams of carbs per day to grow.
2-I can actually grow just fine with under 200 grams of carbs per day.
3-More important than Carbs for me is to eat protein every few hours when hungry.
4-There is no need for me personally to Fatten or to Bulk up. It does more harm than good.
5-Patience is very important in this Journey.
6-Once you hit your genetic Potential growing becomes very difficult and if you push too much with the food you will get fat certainly.
7-Beef amino's or Hydrolized collagen protein are a great tool to add extra protein through out the day and help meet your body's demands for repair.

These are just some that come to my mind and again these are for me personally and my metabolic needs. Some guys might need those 500000000000 carb's a day if the y have a ectomorph body type. What lessons have you guys learned over your lifting and bodybuilding endeavors?

From my little experience

1. Chill out, you have to do the time and work to get the mass.
2. There is no magic, just a better way to do things.
3. Every routine can work, but the one that allows progression limited only by your ability to progress is going to be best.
4. Food is a tool to support existing and new mass, use it wisely.
5. Shortcuts (drugs) to getting bigger are always available.....but your health may no longer after a while....you decide.
6. Keep it simple. Eat, sleep, train, repeat.
7. Its all about genetics....like it or not.
8. Live a balanced life.
 
1. food is the most anabolic substance on earth.
2. everybody wanna be a bodybuilder but dont nobody wanna lift no HEAVY ASS WEIGHTS.
3. drugs cant replace food.
4. PROGRESSION.
5. dont get fat, add muscle.
6. Dont go to clubs or gyms with LATS, there will be smels that need explaining and he'll probably blame it on you.

train consistanly
be patient
don't sacrifice too, life is too short to spend all your time focused on getting bigger.. Have fun and enjoy every day..

1. Do YOUR best. I think Phil has told me that over 100 times, and I don't think I truely got the meaning until the 101st.

2. Be consistent. From Shelby. I don't think I know of a more consistent guy?
