Longevity in Body Building questions and answers

Wow Pesty! Finally an awesome thread, thank you! Not that your other threads arent great, as i enjoy reading them and always seem to learn something! I got REAL excited and didnt make it past Bio's post on page 1, before just throwing in my hat and participate in the discussion?
So i will start by probably Re-posting info i already posted on this forum.
Me.....im 44, 5' 11", right now 223. Dont know my bodyfat, but its low due to my obliques out, but still holding a bit of water as i recently upped my GH dose from 4iu/day....to a higher quality GH @ 8iu/day. No i DO NOT compete, but i want to eventually look like i can. Im shooting for 250/255.
ok so lemme get to my daily supps first...
inj. S.O.D. 1250iu/week
inj. MB12 1,000mcg/week(3 divided doses)
800 mg inj. Curcumin/week
500 mg inj. Resveratrol/week( as we all know from studies, activates the SIRT 1 gene in the body, and mimics calorie restriction, hence the extended lifespan from regular use)
Inj. Glutathione 600mg/week
3,000 mg Garlic supp/day
800 iu Vitamin E complex/day
4,000 mg fish oil/day
200mcg Selenium/day
2-3 green tea caps/day
5,000iu Vit D3/day
800 mg Magnesium Taurate/day
2 X 100mg Ubiquinol caps/day
1 Vit K complex tab/day
1-2 R-ALA caps/day
1 slow release Niacin cap/day
3 cayenne caps/day
2 Citrus Bergamot caps/day
2 milk thistle caps/day(liver)
1 NAC cap/day(liver)
Thats my BASICS, also im blasting and cruising, so im donating blood every 3-4 months.
my biggest problem?? Blood work comes back fine, BP is normal(i have high BP, TAKE 80 mg Diovan, 50 mg Hydrochlorothiazide/day).....but my biggest problem, is i have more than my share of "cheat meals" as the GH/T3 is not letting me accumulate any notable bodyfat, making me cocky and cheat on my diet. In any case, i want to push my limits, but in a safe/sane way.....leading to continued health and longevity. Eventually will switch to a low anti-aging dose of GH , now kinda studying plant based stem cell supps for anti-aging/health reasons.
btw i start each day with a green/organic veggie blend in my Nutribullet. If you have 2 of these a day, you will feel better and notice it in about 10-14 days, in my experience.

That looks very solid. I would say the closer you get to 50, back off being a heavier weight and elect a leaner body. I have the same problem with BP, just genetics. One thing I want to point out to people is to get blood work to determine if you are prone to Blood clots. Then you should stay away from Vitamin K and take aspirin and and nattokinase instead. The older you get, try to keep TRT around 100 to 150 MG a week and GH therapy at 2 IUs a day. Make you get a TSH test on GH and watch your sugar levels. Blood work should be done every 3 to 6 months too.

Awesome Pesty and thank you! Basically i want to look like YOU and enjoy the great health like you do.
Yes i hear you about the bloodclots, i usually ask my doc to do an Ultrasound of my carotid artery(twice a year), to see if i have any atherosclerotic plaque. So far i have great circulation.
i actually was planning on adding Nattokinase to my list, so then i would STOP the Vit K complex? I have a few "anti aging" books written by docs who practice anti aging themselves, THEY ALL list Natto as a supp they take. Also with the high BP, i was thinking i should do a quality Oral Chelation, twice a year....which is basically like a 'roto rooter' for your blood vessels. Thoughts?? I know pretty much the best one on the market is Dr. Karl Loren's oral chelation. Pretty pricey.
With the Natto when i add it, i think between that, the Vit E, Cayenne, and fish oil that should be plenty of blood thinners?? Thank you in advance for any advice, i am happy to keep learning!!

Also Pesty, as i re-read my own post, i noticed a supp i left out. In regards to my high BP(also genetics), i dose 7-10(99mg) potassium citrate caps/day. This is a SUPERSTAR in keeping my BP down. I know you mentioned you also suffer from high BP. may i ask how YOU are keeping it down?
I personally noticed cardio 4 -5 times/week helps....but i got lazy and stopoed due to the fact i memtioned before, i got "cocky" since starting the GH/T3 and watching my body recomp.....and B/F was dropping. I mean i havent seen my obliques since i was 18! So now do i incorporate 20 min cardio before training? Or will this make me lose muscle too. My cardio is HITT.

Ok i keep chiming in, but this thread is great! I would say the 2 people on this board, that i have read many of each's posts i would like to mimic are Pesty and Cardealer. I have read many of Cardealer's posts, he is over 60 i believe and looks fabulous!! I would love to see him chime in here.

the goal here is to limit cell turnover and limit igf as much as possible.

funny since many around here like to talk hgh as anti aging when in reality it does the opposite. lol

how true is this on HGH? i was also under the impression it helps keep us "young"?

Try taking Carditone for BP, add 5 to 10 MG of cialis and you will see it drop a lot. I take potasium too, due to taking a mild diuretic. I think you mention you are on the same as me. I think T4 is better with GH. Make sure you look to see where your TSH and thyroid levels are at. I also would keep and eye on blood sugar while on GH. If gets a little high, low dose slin can help. I am not taking more the 2.5 IUs a day right now. When I was doing a few GH serum tests in a row at 10 IUs, it jumped a little. They say that cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach is best. This is what I do when wanting to get below 10% BF.

I would not take K2 if you are prone to blood clots. I would suggest you get Emeric's advice on this. He has the same tendency to blood clots like me. He is the one that educated me on this subject. The guy is a wealth of knowledge. Maybe he can chime in on here on blood clots, how to test for them and what to take.

It's completely true
It can make you appear younger
But at the cellular level accelerated aging

Like LK3 states there is a huge discrepancy between bodybuilder bro science and real science.

Wouldn't the slin worsen the blood sugar levels making them higher?

I get what your saying, but it's not only how heavy, it's also how tall. Shorter folks live longer. How many 6'+ guys you know in their 90s? Plenty of those little guys 5' something.

Personally I have zero desire to live that long. Too many physical ailments, vision, hearing, and the mind just doesn't work as well. I'm already having to deal with some of those issues.

I like feeling physically fit and strong! Sure it would be much less taxing if I was 30 or 40 pounds lighter, but I was scrawny enough as a kid. It was great then, but I'm enjoying a little more mass the older I get. Although it's work now to stay fit. As a kid it was just having fun!

how many people that tall in general population? lol
;)
big is what I said which would include tall.

if you are on the big side by my thinking it means you have to pay even more attention to this.

what you are talking about, aliments and such to me to some degree are also choices.

we have a choice how we live and age. you just need to be conscious of what does what, at least as a first step.

for me I watched people older then me and chose I didn't want to be like that. so I do things different and will continue to do things different.

I like what pesty has done here and it is super important. we all start off in kind of a similar direction and there needs to be an evolution to it all, people get stuck in a mind set of doing the same thing, the key is to evolve, learn and be better.

what ever your personal version of better is.

Yes it is taxing on the body at the cellular level. But lots of things do that, like junk food, drinking soda, consuming refined sugar etc.., or being a couch potato.

In your early 20s your hormone levels peak, let's call it 100%, well by the time you're in your 50s you are now in the 30/35% level. That's how fast our levels decrease.

HGH increases your levels, dramatically. That's why folks in their 60s feel like they're in their 30s again! Body fat drops, muscles tone up, and your mood skyrockets. More energy usually results in getting Ol Farts off the couch, because depression sucks.

Since your activity levels increase, you start exercising, playing golf, jogging, or whatever, it's more than before, less time in the rocking chair is always a good thing.

Who knows, the overall effect may balance out the taxing effect at the cell level. Personally, it saved my life. The VA had me on more meds which turned me into a zombie. Now, none, and I feel better than ever. Even my ptsd I tolerable. As a ten point vet, I give it two thumbs up.

Ok so now i went back a few posts on this page, and i saw LK3 post Resveratrol IS NOT responsible for activating the SIRT1 gene? That would make my weekly use of it futile??
Interesting about the Humanoforte....will have to look into it. A LOT of great posts and great minds here.
Yes Johnj is correct, WE DO KNOW that calorie restriction DOES EXTEND lifespan......BUT I DONT WANNA EVER BE SMALL!!

dude it is a well know fact and been discussed on A's site for years.

you jump to lots of conclusions and miss tons of details which is part of why you get confused on some of this.

study's are great but all they are is an idea, they do not apply to anything we do directly.

here is the how you answer your question. you been taking something, take it for a while. then stop taking it! lol see what it does for YOU in your goals in your life then make up your own mind.

I have done that many times, each time I am more impressed then the last, lol. I say to myself this is nothing besides some funny oil... lol:eek: then things happen that I can not deny.

how do they happen?
got some ideas but we will probably never have confirmation.

I got a question on blood sugar. I take a 2000mg cap, twice a day, of Cinnamon. Heard it's really good for aiding in regulating blood sugar levels. Haven't really researched as well as I should, so if anyone has any info, thanks.

what do you mean how true is it? lol

it is just true. lol

people seem to get confused with terminology by taking drugs you are not really anti aging, in some ways you could say that but really most here are not maximizing hormones to simply youthful levels, they are going far above to create an unnatural state.

one big reason to take gh is because it converts to igf1 and that is actually what is doing the "keeping you young" as we age igf drops, so your body cannot retain nerve innervation like it used to. igf helps maintain the cns.

fuck
cant finish this sorry

That's great that it helped you out I'm all for whatever improves YOUR life quality period.

And I'm all for restoration of youthful levels of hormones. But typically that's not what we are talking about when referring to GH on a bodybuilding site.

Believe me I'm no opponent to anyone doing whatever they need to to get thru this thing called life. I just think GH in particular got way over hyped and continues to do so. This coming from someone that has used it the better part of 15 years but I think it's the least of the factors in my equation for sure.

I here ya. I just wanted to show both sides, moderation & extreme. I being the moderation side. I guess it's like anything else in life, there's always folks that think More is better.

Gh and throw in a cycle, well it works great for us older guys. That's keeping it at a anti-aging level. Nothing beats being/feeling 20/30 years younger!

Regarding cholesterol... It was my belief that your genetics/refined carbs are what affect your cholesterol, rather than dietary fats? I remember reading this in Shelbys "the healthy bodybuilder ebook".

Bumping for some discussion on this^^^ 😁

Bumping for some discussion on this^^^ 😁

When you say cholesterol, you didn't specify bad or good

There is many factors that can effect cholesterol,
Diet
Weight
Exercise
Age and gender
Genes
Medical conditions
Medicines

Thank you again PESTY!! Again i forgot to mention i do take a low dose Cialis(5mg/day) currently, but i wil def look into Carditone and start to use it. Yes i do take 50 mg/hydrochlorothiazide/day.....and i KNOW its not potassium sparing, but i do dose potassium citrate every day, my BP is consistant and low....while on A BLAST!
Everything your suggesting to me brother, is going into my notebook!! Thank you!!!

Thanks LK3, ....your right, i seemed to have lost.some details about Res......but i feel i will continue to dose it due to the other health benefits WE DO KNOW about it. Thanks again brother!!
