Low carb while on test...

Just want to get some of your opinions about running a low carb diet (less then 20g a day) while running Test or maybe sust. I am a big fan on running a low carb diet for a couple months to shed off the lazy winter fat, but I have never tried it while on test. I'm wondering if this would help with shedding the fat? What do y'all think? Anyone ever tried a long term low-carb diet while on a cycle?
 
I have done it before, its a good way to avoid the bloated look while on test as its very easy to get high water retention with high carbs and test.
 
The test will not necessarily help you "shed fat" however, it will help you hold onto some muscle when in a caloric defecit.
 
I use Dave Palumbo's diet and it works great for me.

first 2 weeks are no carb,, after that you can have a cheat meal every week.

I didnt go that low, but i was eating around 100g carbs a day during my last cycle and had great results.

It does help lose more fat. Let's say we would normally have lost 4 pounds of fat and 1 pound of muscle. That pound of muscle provided calories, and if it wasn't burned those extra calories have to come from fat. Also, workouts will be improved and lengthy cardio becomes a better option on test.

IMO, you can low-carb and drop some fat, but if you don't drink a LOT of water, you'll get bloated eventually anyway. Not fat, but you'll look fatter than you are.

I've noticed that even on higher carbs-high protein + Test., if I drink enough water, I dont get bloated or seem to get much fatter. For me water intake, not carbs is the key. (This may be different if your carb intake is really higher than you require, then of course you'll get fat).

Higher carbs, higher water intake = no bloat. Still less overall size without the bloat, but fuller muscles and better strength during workouts. This is the plan I'm going with for the duration of the cycle. But I know if Im not drinking a load of water, Im gonna look like a sponge...This allows me to measure real gains and not just bloat + gains.
 
I can only say I was pleased with the results of low carb <50 grams and fair amounts of test. I can't really compare as I have not done one without the other. I no longer do that low of carbs nor do I do more than HRT test. Try to avoid most extremes these days.
