why is the mac nut considered the better nut, when the walnut has a 1:4 ratio of 0-3 to 0-6 and 10,000 mg of 0-3 per cup, and the macs have a 1:6 and only 276mg of 0-3 per cup, and wal has less sat fat
You take Mac nuts for Mono fat, not for omega's...
Walnuts are high in Polyunsaturated fats, which are actually not good for you...some studies have shown that there's an increase in the chance to develop different cancers if your poly intake is too high...I stick to monounsaturated.
The ONLY heart healthy omega 6 fats are CLA and GLA
i dont know guys, from my understanding the poly and mono thing is as a big concern vs the ratio of 0-3 to 0-6, for you to say that poly is bad, then your saying fish oil is bad thats all poly and high o-3, pb is high mono and high 0-6,so whats up
