OK, I had my MRI on the 23 and let me say that when they made that machine they did not have large people in mind. I was stuffed into that thing for 45 minutes (it could have beed worse) and was freaking out the whole time. anyway got the results and I am ok. I have a second degree sprain in my Infra Spranatious myo tendon unit. So I am going to get back into the gym today after a 3 week layoff. I am glad it happened because I realized that I am over training. The first week of my off time I got bigger, from not doing anything. Either that or the growth and rest phase that phil used to use really is a good way to go.

Anyway I also got back my second set of labs, I had to go back the second time to have my urin checked again becaues I was spilling protein. Well I am still spilling protein and I now have to do a 24 hour urin test. has anyone ever done this before, if so what is it like?
 
i am glad to hear u got good news.

as far as the protein in urine, wouldnt it be somewhat elevated due to abnormally high consumption?
 
yes, but ther is too mush spilling out and that is a bad sign for the kidneys. My water consumption needs to come up.
 
are u taking any milk thistle? might help. sorry, dont know what else to tell ya.

thanks man. I finally figured out what my problem was. I was only buying certain food in bulk. Chicken, potaos, and pizza breads, and that was all I would have in my kitchen. Well I got so sick of that shit. I was only eating that ed for like 6 months straight no bullshit. I got so sick of it I just stoped getting hungry. The only reason I did it was because it was cost effective. If I were to try and get protein from like chicken fingers I would probally spend $100 a day. anyway I sucked it up got a job and now spend a extra $150 every 8 days on good tasting food so now eating tons of shit that I love to eat. I keep track of all my food intake on www.FitDay.com and I on average I am taking in a bit over 5,000 cals a day, 380 grams of protein, and a bit over 700 grams of carbs and some fat.

About my kidneys, it is my water intake or lack there of. Everytime I go to the doc it is early as hell. So I wake up from not drinking any water for like 8 hours and then go to the doc. Still I need to have it checked to see if 2 gallons of water a day will correct this. If not I have to see a kidney specialist.
 
A bit more info for you...

Protein in the urine is NOT caused by how much you consume in your diet.

Protein does not normally show up in the urine for two reasons. First, is the size of the protein molecule itself. The thin spaces between the epithelial cells on the capilaries in the kidney are too small for this.
Second, amino acids have a charge. THe epithelial cells also have the same charge, and these like charges repel each other.

When you see protein in the urine, it is usually due to some sort of inflammation or damage to the epithelial cells in the capilaries of the filtration system of the kidneys. Now, this can be a transient situation like an infection, and if so would resolve with antibiotics. But, it can signal some greater problem, too. Many times these things are "idiopathic" which is just a fancy way of saying, "We just don't know why this happened."

I'd STRONGLY encourage you to go see the kidney specialist ASAP. If it's an easily-treatable thing like an infection, you want to treat it before it gets worse, and does more damage. If it's more sreious, you want to start treatment NOW. Beleive me, the last thing you want is bad kidney problems! It'll set up a ripple effect all through your body.

Not trying to be negative or frightening, just trying to encourage you NOT to wait on this!

Protein intake is not even a major factor in urine excretion. It has to do with the glomuluri of the kidneys. They can be damaged, etc... You are not an expert, so please go see a nephrologist. Flex wheeler had this problem, as did Alonzo Mourning, Sean Elliott. This is a test everyone needs to take and none seem to want to do it.
 
Dad, Phil, I am still waiting to get the 24 hour test to. I should have the order by Monday (that is what the doc told me) then we are going from there. also thinks for the info because I just though it was from not flushing out the body enough.

I had the same exact diagnossis 2 yrs ago from my MRI. What are you going to be doing for rehab work to get it back to 100%.

UM, nothing. I mean I am not set up for any physical therapy. I have been through this before with my left shoulder but it was in the back with the rotator cuff. I will do the strength movements and the tens unit and probally that is it. I tried to bench yesterday and only did a set with 135lbs to see how things were coming and my pec is hurting like shit today. It is weird, there is more pain right near the corner of the pec and armpit than in the shoulder. I can still do shoulders and everything else just not comforable with bench. Which is depressing since I have been resting for the past 3 weeks and it has not recoverd.

What did you do for it, and what were your symptons (pain areas)?
 
well actaully my symtons where an general aching in th e whole shoulder area ,but them my lower trap started bothering me because it was compensating for the shoulder weakness. Accupunture helped alot I went 4 times and to sports massage 4 times each 1 time a week for a month. During that month i did rotator cuff exercises and scapular exrcises EOD and my regular upper body routine with about 40% of max for 15 reps. On the way to the gym while i was driving i have this microwavable heating pad i put on my shoulder to increase blood flow and loosen things up.

Its been really good nowi make sure i use the heating pad on that shoulder always before i go to the gym and do rotaor cuff exercise after upper body workouts regularly.
