Brick, I have to agree with you here. While I did not laugh at the situation i was more bewildered at the stupidity of these morons. As you can see from the clip there were more of them out there that day. The thing is this. he was wreckless and foolhearty. He has now placed an incredible burden on his family, all those thar care about him and all those that now take care of him in hospital. Why, because he did not think!! It could have been avoided altogether, but his single act of stupidity now forces this upon so many others!!

Forgive me if this is an uninformed question as I have never kite surfed, but was he harnessed in or could he have let go on the first landing as he was digging for clams? That one landing was probably not that bad. Again, I have never done this so I don't really know.

Back in the olden days we used the sail on the board and not so much the kites, you could just let go.

Exactly. I wonder if he was locked on there somehow. You would think that first slam into the dirt would make ya wanna get off the train, but I guess some laserations and bruising wasn't good enough for him, he was shootin for the coma.

He was harnessed in. I have since read that it happened so fast the poor guy couldn't release his safety harness. After being blown off the beach he was blown across a busy highway missed by cars and was slammed into the side of that building.
