So I'm watching NFL Network and the 2009 Combine. They had someone get 39 reps at 225lbs on the BP. They said it was the 4th highest in the last decade of NFL prospects.

Was wondering what the numbers in here are?

:)

Ive read in some other posts on here where people have mentioned they were in the 60s! I dont know how much truth to that claim there is but thats crazy! My best is 225x36 (natural). I put that up about 6 weeks ago in anticipation of the walk on tryouts for the school I will be transferring to and found out that because I havent transferred yet, I cant even try out. So maybe next year I dont know yet.

how about 225x2? LOL. That reminds me, anyone got any links to increasing your bitch press? I mean bench press?

ive gotten it for 22 reps no bounce full lockout at age 21 my weight and height were 220lbs 5'11"

Current best runs: 225x32 and 315x15 Both done on different workouts and at a bodyweight of approx. 225 pounds.

I'm curious how you guys got your bench so high? Outside of AAS and diet, that is. My bench sucks, plain and simple. I'm probably hiring Big Phil, too, so maybe that'll help.

I put up 410 when I was 16. Bench has always been up there for me. I won a few local contests but never considered my self as strong as I actually am until after talking to others and reading posts from all over. I think the combine record is 43. I know last year Jake long did it 38 so I was looking for that number before the try outs.

I hit it for 20 the other day, felt like I could have gotten 10 more. Quick reps though, about 3/4 of the way up maybe.

Well 60's would be incredible to see. On NFL Network these guys had pretty good form but many bounced it off the chest but you gotta give it to them, they are pretty damn strong. The guy that did 39 was a LB I think. WR's were around 25. QB's were by far the weakest. One of the lower scores I watched was about 12. The guy was built but just had long arms.

Brodrick Bunkley (DE for my Philadelphia Eagles) at the time of his combine, he hit 44 on 225lbs and was 1 short of the record.

don't feel bad bro, my bench has always sucked too, I snapped my collarbone in half years ago and it never really healed right so that may have something to do with it. But some people just have stronger benches than others, my old training partner had a weak bench too.

Yeah, I try not to focus on the bench as my strength benchmark too much... I like to think that when I'm banging out pullups and squats, while the little guys who just outbenched me say "hey, wait a minute!" Weak bench sucks, yes, but I'm doing as well as I can, I suppose. That reminds me, I tore all the ligaments around my collar bone in a cycling accident, and that happened around the time I started lifting. Maybe that has something to do with my weak bench? I don't have much stability in my right shoulder, anymore... hmm. Thanks bro

dont know how credible some of the youtube ones are. but there are some big numbers up there.

this guy did 72 after doing 6 sets of 505. kinda 3/4 reps but, I have buddies that have done the nfl combine and some people get away with bouncing and other fast paced shit.

I tried once and got 36 bouncy reps

As much as I like to see the, "225 for reps," exercise. How credible is it when it comes to football? I have been to combines and while I did alright in the competition, I couldn't get nearly as many reps as some of the other athletes. Yet my absolute strength was higher.

I'm anxious to hear you all on your opinions?

did this the other day immediately following some heavy incline db presses and managed to squeeze out 48 reps. Thinking about giving it a try at the beginning of the workout next time. I'm weighing in at 250-255 right now, so was pretty pleased with it (all be it the reps were much like the ones in the video)

think was in planetmuscle around 2002 in an article it stated big ronnie coleman did 225lb. for 70 or 75reps.something like that but not sure how true that is...my bench sucks also but had good deadlift before screwin my back up. squats still pretty good for my size.but bench forget about it.its kinda funny to cause my chest is probally my best bodypart.make anysense?

I hardly do flat bench anymore...but when I do its always at the end of my chest workout and I just toss 225 on there and do 1-3 sets of as many as I can. When I frst started doing this I could never get over 25-27 reps...but as time went by and I was getting up in the mid 30's. Honestly tho when I am off(supps) my numbers dont really drop all that much like alot of ppls I notice in the gym.
