I work in the heart of all this. It's definitely not going to be pretty.

Everyone is in gridlock right now.. nobody is paying anyone else because they aren't getting paid...

We all are impacted

The major problem most of us will/are having is trickle down or rebound effect. One can have a recession proof job but if everything else has declined or become obsolete it will impact the masses severly. Most times the country's economy is a constant flow of checks and balances, the wise and/or wealthy are able to stay on the winning side of the fence. When real estate is down they buy low, when it is up they sell high. They do this in many different fasets of the economy. The rest of us fall in line and try to do the same thing at different levels with our 401k's, investments, grocery store coupons, sales, etc.. Whats happening is that fence is slowly but surely rotting away. The highs are mixing with lows and there are no more defintive lines.

i work in the grocery sector, people may eat less, but they still have to eat.
