Rea , I believe that women are like men that they peak probally in thier early to middle thirties as far as conditioning goes maybe even 40s. The problem with the women is they tend not to age facially as well as the men so it hurts thier marketablity quite abit. Also the drugs tend to take thier toll after a while . Squared jaws and raspy voices are the norms in the highestest level of figure and fitness.[ talk to the upper people in your sport and you will see what I mean] I used to help out Nicole Hobbs quite abit before she turned pro . I think she was 22 when she won the fitness usa in 99 .[ I think it was 99 , it has been awhile ,we have been friends since she was 15 ]
Anyway take your time , stay very lean all year round [ so you don't have to go to extremes to get ready for shows] , and be very cautious what you do to your body. You are young , intelligent , and could do alot for your sport . But if you compromise yourself , your beauty , and your health in the process of making it to the big time, then I think you will be unhappy with your decsion. Take your time . You are 19 and the sport will have to change in order to survive. How you look now should and more than likely will be the future. Nobody wants to see a chick that is hot 20 feet away , but up close has a beard , raspy voice , and a square jaw. That does your sport no good in the long run what so ever. You look great now and I bet you have remained realitively clean to this point. Stay that way Rea....your sexy as hell ......just don't feel pressured to do what all the other girls are doing. I am sure it will be tough not to do it because I am sure you are a fierce competitor , but don't do it, you are fine the way you are. It will be even harder as your metabolism changes in your early to middle twenties ,so be extra disaplined and stay very lean in the off season . Train heavy but give yourself enough rest you will be fine. Remember little one .....you are the future........it is your responsibility to keep your sport alive!
