O/T got into a minor car accident

So I got rear ended today. Not my fault and nothing too big. Might have totaled my beloved Miata tho

But I've noticed my head is kind of beginning to hurt. It's not terrible but it feels like there is pressure on the top of my head through my sinuses and has gotten a little worse throughout the past hour. I didn't tell the police officer because it didn't hurt right after but I told my insurance. Also, I don't think I hit my head as there isn't any bruising or swelling... Anyone know what I might be experiencing? Whiplash maybe?

I'd go to the ER. Their insurance will cover it. Why not get some basic scans, make sure there are no slipped discs, etc.

If you have to make a claim later, waiting to get medical attention makes you less credible. I advise all clients to seek care immediately. You could have some hemorrhaging or something. Increased head pressure sensations are no good. Why risk it, that is why there is mandatory coverage. This is your life.

Unless they are uninsured. Also, if you're in a no-fault state, with mandatory Personal Injury Protection in your auto insurance, you will use that, and then your company will subrogate.

If you have Medical, in addition, in your policy, you can use that for health insurance and co-pays. Get you auto policy declarations page and see what you have been paying for.

***Note: Your insurer can't surcharge you for using your PIP or Medical.

If ur Miata is totaled, sounds like u took a pretty good hit...I mean its not just some scratched paint. Guys r real quick to shake it off n say "I'll be alright" after an accident but car accidents cause blunt force which travels through the body and sometimes injuries aren't felt for a while. Go get checked our.

Typically the adrenaline of being in a car accident masks all the initial injuries unless they obviously severe. Some may not show any symptoms until the next day or two. Good thing you're going to get checked out.

So I went to Urgent Care last night. The Dr. said my neck and upper back were pretty tight. He gave me a prescription for a muscle relaxer and pain meds (I don't remember which kind) and said I'll be fine after a couple days of rest. I haven't filled the prescriptions, I'd rather not use them if I don't need to. I woke up this morning and was pretty stiff but went on a good run and stretched. I feel much better now. Pretty confident I just got a bit of whiplash.

I inspected my Miata a bit more this morning... The whole back end is pretty dented up haha I tried to open the trunk and now I can't close it. Every back panel is a little out of place and the rear fenders are a little scrunched in. Hopefully the other guys insurance will get me a rental car soon I've got places to be
