Offsubject: Dusty and others in Scottsdale area

Seems like alot of AZ bodybuilders on this board so I wanted to ask Dusty et all the following

The Barrett-Jackson auto auction in Scottsdale

I was going to bid on a car in the upcoming auction and I am just wondering if any of you locally are familiar with it or have attended. I dont want to make the trip if the reality of the situation is cars are going for much more than they are worth....and its really an affluent gathering of people who have an infinite bank account and getting a steal (or even a fair price) is non existant. I saw some posts on another board where the person was complaining that tirekickers were paying 75k for a car worth 40k at the B-J auction.

There is a car I absolutely love there and want bad but Im a frugal MF and will only pay fair price for it.

Any comments?

It really depends on the quality and how rare the car is but in general the BJ is reserved for collectors and people who have more dollars than sense. I have seen quite a few cars go up and up and up because two rich guys get in a pissing match and it becomes more about winning the car than the value itself. By the way the auction is about a two minute drive from my house so if you come plan on hitting Golds with me.

I know what you do for leg poundages....I dont know if after Ill be able to drive the car if I win it--LOL
