I just wanted to know what everyone thought about the Oh Yea Bars. Now personally I loved em but if your on a cutting phase should it be stayed away from? I would think yes (19g of fat).

It's a candy bar with some protein added. Some are actually marketed that way. If I want a cheat snack, I'd grab one. Other than that I wouldn't count the protein in that toward my daily intake or anything else for that matter. They taste great but I wouldn't eat them on a regular basis.
 
the best protein bars out there are by VPX...

the ZeroImpact bars. they're high quality, very good bars. but ill warn you, the worst tasting sh*t of my life. i had to choke down those things...:eek:

edit: and i would stay away from these also while cutting, as they're also high in fat. VPX claims is some type of "good fat" or something, it sure as hell better be for them to taste that horrible

As in another thread, I would refrain when cutting or close to contest. I use them when bulking but only occassionally and you would be very surprised what is in most of them, Like for instance parts of the hoof of a cow, etc. Not familiar with that bar though.

Well im not cutting for a show, just trying to trim down, as i put on too much fat thru the last run. I never did eat them alot nor any protein bar for that, but it was one of the best ones i had ever tried.

So what else does everyone eat (protein bar)?

Agreed....quite tasty!

Bars fall into that "other" category as far as nutrition is concerned...at least in my opinion. After you have had your meal or in between meals they are a good snack. With the nutritional value of today's bars equaling that of a Snickers with added protein:D , they are a cheat at best. I think in the off season they are fine but if I would never even consider them part of a pre contest diet plan.

OHHH, I forgotthe Labrada bars. Especially the cookie bars. The yare awesome if you microwave them for about 15 seconds.

I can not believe I didn't think of that, bet they are! The Leanbody choc chip cookie dough, right?
 
I have had every bar on the market and my favorite is the Trioplex brand, they have banana peanut butter, oh man is that good! **broken link removed**

I also am a big fan of cliff bars (apple raisin, peanut butter) as well as promax bars, cookies and cream, honey peanut, those are actually not too bad if you want low fat just 4.5g total.

That one and they use to have another one, cant remember the name it was something blonde......idk. But yea any of the cookie bars. Just 10 secs in the microwave or so.
 
I know palumbo has recommended greens plus which I've tried & are decent in taste but for dieting homemade bars would be the only option

You could make your own protein bar cheaper and BETTER.

i havent had the pumpkin ones...i know the peanut butter chocolate ones are SO dry you have to have water to get them down lol
