Old Ron under the iron again after double hip replacement...

I train there, too. He gets around like a 70 year old man. Trust me, that is not to take ANYTHING away from him and his accomplishments or his spirit. However, his day in the sun is over. It happens to all whose accomplishments are physically based.

Hip Revisions Are Next

Aloha brutha's,

Have had my lt. hip replaced, then 12 years later a revision, with a complete rebuild done with cadaver bone. Last December rt.hip replaced.

I can tell you this for sure, if Ronnie does up the weight as he says, he will very soon need to have his hips redone. The revision that would be done will render him with significantly less function!

I am no Ronnie Coleman that is for sure, however after my first hip replacement I eventually went back to heavy leg presses, and smith squats, and the materials in my hip broke down rather quickly.

Now I train 'smart', and respect what I have to work with. My legs don't have the same muscle mass, but they are defined, muscular, functional and pain free.

Just my 2 cents worth. LOL..

The co-efficient of human joints is ZERO (or 0.001).

The greatest co-efficient man has engineered with artificial joints is ~100.

That should give us an idea on how long Ron's hip will last if he does decide to press 2300 lbs again.

He's been seemingly naive to what his body can handle throughout his career. And he's got away with it all for the most part. But I see a rapid deterioration in his health if he still thinks he's invincible...

He would be crazy to try and train heavy again. Also if he wants to live a little longer he should bring down his weight a bit, like Dorian Yates. As soon as Dorian retired he dropped down significantly to about 225. I understand Ronnie wants to keep his size but his body was not made to carry around that much mass, and now that he doesnt need it he should trim down a bit.

Some people compared him to Jay keeping weight on a little earlier in the thread, but Jay just stopped competing a year ago. And Jay's body has not started to fail him. And im not hating, im just saying that if Ronnie wants to think about the future he should not worry about being massive.

Well he is flexing it, grabbing the leg press handle.

A 15 inches arm will still look like a 15" no matter how hard you're flexing it..

Those are some BIG arms Ron is sporting, period. :headbang:
