Thought this would be a fun thread. Im 40 and been lifting since I was 15. When I was a teen the big gimmick was CYBERGENICS. Anyone remember this machine? Little electodes you used to attach to your muscles. I didnt fall for it, but i know others who did. I got some more old school fades. Hoping others will chime in.

cybergenics was not a tems machine. It was a bunch of expensive run of the mill supplements and a training system. Just some marketing crap.
most fads were renamed or useless supps. all marketing hype.
Oh remember inversion boots? I know a gym that guys still hang from those
now and then.I remember some multi vites called spectrum or something like that. they were just a weak multi vitamin being hyped by some Dr something.
Remember somatomax from amino discounters? No hype there just pure gamma
hydroxybutorate powder. the fda yanked that quick.

Scott Chinery was the founder of that company-he died from a heart attack about 10-12 years ago-he was a house-and im guessing it wasnt from his Cybergenic line of supplements!!!

Weider Mega Mass 5000, Boron, Chromium Picolinate, HMB, Hot Stuff, Dibencozide, and the list goes on.

I was a 16 year old kid, and i bought every single one of those supplements thinking i would become the next Dorian Yates.

I would have been better off saving that money for a hooker :D

Shit I am gonna have to pull out my old muscle and fitness from the early 90's and see what else I am forgetting. Seem to remember the old time weight gainers had a scoop the size the shovel you would use to make a sand castle as a kid.

Have you seen the southpark shake wt episode? Too damn funny!
YES!!!!!!!!! One of the best episodes ever. Get a nice squirt of water from the shake weight to "cool your face off" after you've used it. LOL.

These were some of the first scams aside from the strongmen at the circus selling "snake oil" strongman potions.
