Does anyone use omega 7?

I've been reading up on it and it seems that supplementing with this can be a great idea. I almost never hear anyone talk about omega 7, but I would like to know if anyone uses it and what your thoughts are.

Among other benefits, studies have showed an improved in cholesterol levels (HDL rise by 10%), a 47% decrease in arterial plaque and an average of 44% reduction in CRP, among other benefits.

Thoughts anyone?

I read about it in life extension but forgot to follow up. Those are some killer benefits it it's as good as advertised. The product you sent in that link was discontinued but life extension sells it

It does sound really good. Its benefits almost seem to be too good to be true. I'm surprised we do not hear more people talk about it. I wonder if the info is all BS.

I will look into the life extension brand. I have found a couple of brands on amazon that look decent. The cost is quite affordable too.

I had never heard of omega 7 until I read that LE article a few months ago. I also wonder why it doesn't get talked about.
 
Eat your macadamia nuts

And salmon, avocado's, palm oil and coconut oil.

If you're eating those foods, there's really no need to supplement with palmitoleic acid (omega 7).

Let's not leave out the bennies of omega 9 :)
 
The effects of Omega-7 are remain unknown.
Omega-7 fatty acids are just a classic of single unsaturated fatty acids. It maybe a business operation because we can not find any strong evidence to prove the good effects on human health in scientific research.

Some evidence proved oral administration of omega-7 palmitoleic acid induces satiety and the release of appetite-related hormones. But this scientific experiments are limited to rats.

Isolating another fatty acid to sell it in caps? Just another way for the supplements industry to make more $$$... :cool:

As Stewie so rightfully said giving examples of foods containing it in pretty high amounts, a balanced diet is all you need. ;):)
 
I read about it in life extension as well. But I already have one avocado a day in my superfoods shake.
