Can somebody please recommend an online lab that will order some tests for me? I'm specifically looking to get my test and estrogen levels checked. Thanks.

use direct labs they are very cheap and you get results back in like a day or 2. I have been using them every 3 mo for the past year and a half

What is the benefit of an "online" lab versus just having your doc order labwork for you? The labs I go to require a doctor to order it. I've had 3 lab tests done in like the past 2 months. Plus a 24-hour creatinine. All checked out good. My doc loves to send me for labwork. Do the "online" labs accept insurance like my local labs do? Also, how accurate are these labs? My doc will only send me to a few labs that she feel are the most accurate when it comes to testing.

there are a lot of docs that are not very cool with what your blood work may look like (Test levels), If you know what the results mean, and how to correct it IMO a doc is nort needed. I dont belive they accept insurance. ususlly an insurance provider will want a good reason to have full panel blood work done

Gotcha. Thanks. That is the one thing that my labwork never shows. Test levels. I think its something they add extra if they want to as I've seen it listed seperately on the order form.

doc is clueless

My doc is a good guy but when it comes to Test and estrogen levels he is clueless. He did order free and total test for me but would not order estradiol because he says that is to check women's fertility. My test came back at 379 and 55, both low normal so he says TRT is not necessary. I suspect I have an elevated E2 and want to know for certain so I can treat it myself. By lowering E2 my test levels should come up significantly.

The benefit is you determine what tests you want and purchase them no dr's order needed.
In some cases and companies insurance will pay for 2 complete blood profiles a year with out a docs order. I have gotten more tests done in the last 3 years than anyone I think at least 8-12 times a year various tests and panels looking at things.
These labs are the same ones used by docs.

Thanks Massive. This makes sense. One thing, that I find interesting, is that some of the labs I've been to can have different ranges. For instance, my creatinine level was 1.3 and the lab gave a scale of .8-1.5. My dad used to own a lab, and so I talked to him about it, and he said he remembered 1.2 being a max range. Then I looked around and other various sources are quoting the 1.2 number. My GFR was really low at a 68, but all was normal with a 24 hour creatinine. My doc said she wasn't worried about this low GFR, b/c I am supplementing with creatine and I'm a bodybuilder. However the 24 hour was the only way to be sure. Sure enough my creatinine in my urine was high at 136. Which was really good. No proteins, etc. So I guess what I'm saying is that people should research these values and what they mean, and establish their own ranges. In my case, my creatinine was actually a little high in my blood and when I lowered the number down to 1.1 and recalculated my GFR it came out at an 89(90 and above being normal). If I'd weighed 20 lbs less it would have sent my GFR even further up.
Massive. Have you had an bad labwork done by any of these online labs before? Just curious. You've used these guys a lot it sounds.
Thanks!

Lab one might do it?

Yes I use Direct Labs and I beleive they use Lab Corp the same company that my doc uses.
When I got any type of test done I am always off all supps like creatine and vitamins, off training and well hydrated if anything is out of whack from my baseline I will know somethings up and not be from tha supps.

I just did a 24 hr urine and when I turned in my canisters the lab fainted I had 5000 mls. I drink a lot of water. Normal is 7-1400 mls I think.

May I ak what volume you pumped out for the 24 hr urine??

Dang Massive! How many jugs was that????

I will find out from my Doc on Tues. when I see her. She blurted off my creatinine but I didn't get to talk long. I filled up one jug and I think they are 1 liter jugs. The only thing different that I did was lay off the creatine for 1 week and not workout for 48 hours prior to the test.
