Only 300 Bugatti Veyron cars have been built. This car is thought to be one of only about 12 in Britain.

I believe that video was taken at the VW test track in germany. A big ass loop (many miles long) under a former no fly zone. One of several purpose built tracks owned by car companies where they can test what their cars are made of.

The interesting thing about the veyron was that VW manufactured it at a big loss. They knew this even before they began designing it.

It costs like 5mill to build but sells for 1-2mill.

they did it basically to prove that they could. No car as good as this will ever be built again...not with the global warming sh*t anyways.

Thats the cost of all the R&D work divided by the total number of cars built, not the actual production costs of each car. I suspect they probably break even or make a slight profit on each unit.

The tech they have learnt how to build and use will become available 5-10 years down the road, where VW can incorporate it into its normal cars, and that is where they'll make back their costs...and then some.

I love that video, and that car. At top speed the tires last for fifteen mins, but the gas runs out in 12 min. It only gets 1 mpg at top speed, ouch

250-0 mph in 10 seconds.

Faster from 0-200 mph than a McLaren going from 120-200.

Top Gear = Top Show. This is the fastest car in the world that is absolutely street legal. The acceleration is like a jet fighter and the top speed..........well what do you say! The test track is 60 miles long with the main straight 5.5 miles long. I let them borrow mine for the show!!!!!! What a car! Big A I don't think we'll see one here except in the motor show. Nice video footage.

Hey Ouch, the guy in the UK that crashed his now needs some counselling. Since he has that kind of money tell him you'll look after him for his car in trade, after he repairs it of course!!!
