maybe, but it is hard way to start your business. Most gyms have you start this way, and that is why 200 trainers go through the place every two years. Unfortunately you have to spend a lot of time there and build your rep. If you have a rep, you could start off very quickly. people can and will approach you if you are available to them. they will if you are professional and approachable, not if you have said certification. that stuff may be important later, but maybe not.
Sometimes the gyms are not going to pay for prospecting for new clients and that is a hard pill to swallow, but sometimes it is the only way in. You'll find people who are successful in this business have followed the same recipe for success in any other business. You may start out eating alot of shit, but if you put your time in, you'll have a shit eating grin when your pockets are full.

thank you that was very helpful actually. Starting at the bottom sucks. It's like starting a sales job and having to make cold calls all day. Same applies to entering the PT industry.
