I also have to talk about those boxing skills
Throws a hook like a forth grader, keeps his chin high and head tilted back when exchanging blows, I seen better fights when I was in middleschool.
imagine being a regular guy, and picking a fight with a juiced up golden gloves boxer
@b-boy Beat me to it..
One of my best friends (and my coach) is a pro MMA fighter, 1st degree BJJ black belt and has pro fights in Muay Thai (lived there for 3 years and has trained with guys in Tiger Muay Thai camp and Bangtao) and pro boxing fights..
Needless to say that through him and training with him, I’ve met A LOT of pro fighters and trained with some pretty cool people..
That guy has never been in any golden gloves level boxing matches guaranteed..
It doesn’t matter if you haven’t trained boxing in 12 years… If you’re golden gloves winner level, that foundation and the basics, AT THE VERY LEAST won’t ever go away.. Your footwork, head movement, distance, even your technique on how to execute punches etc won’t go away like that..
Will you be crisp to fight in the ring against someone who’s been in training camp? Obviously not..
But would you look like a 5th grader who’s never thrown a punch? Absolutely not..
I’ve seen people like that come into the gym plenty of times;
Coach - You got any experience?
Guy - Yea, I used to box (or kickbox, or Muay Thai, or I got my blue belt etc) but I haven’t trained in like 5 years, 10 years, whatever the case.

“This guy has never trained a day in his life, maybe he did a free trial class”
The equivalent of “stolen valor” in the martial arts community..
