It's the sugars. just before i go on stage I eat jelly beans, one for the energy and second for the pump and vascularity. The leaner you are the more noticeable it is!

your body is finally gettin some carbs in it... thats is the reason for the increaed vascularity, I'll bet you feel a hell of a lot better too and have more energy in the gym...

my carbs have been strictly from fruit for the past 6-7 months. i dont think i'll ever go back.

this is the best i looked or felt in years, for the first time in 10 years of bodybuilding i don't get cramps at night i'am very full and vascular and i have a ton of energy.my body never felt good on high protein low carbs i was always flat i think i slowed my metabolism down.funny thing was on low carbs i had to eat so much sodium that my food would taste nasty but now i don't even add it and i'am fine.i've learned alot from phil and edge250's posts i look forward to getting back in shape and competing again

I have 300g of frozen mixed berries per day, absolutely brilliant.

edge250

bro how many carbs do you take in counting the juice you drink daily

GREAT NEWS

THE GUYS TELLING US HOW TO EAT AND WHAT TO EAT HAVE NEVER BEEN IN A WEIGHTROOM AND EXPERIENCED HOW MANY CARBS AND FROM WHAT SOURCES THEY NEED...........WE HAVE.

All my carbs come from fruits as well. I eat no bread or grains. I have also never felt better.

Could you give an example of a typical day as far as the fruits you eat and when you eat them? Thanks

without going to much into detail as i did pay phil for his services......i have fruit (usually bananas)or fruit juice (dole 100% juice has all kinds of crazy flavors ie. strawberry-kiwi, orange-pineapple-banana,ec) every meal for my carbs, i have 6-7 meals per day. i highly recommend you contact phil his fee is EXTREMELY low compared to what alot of trainers charge and has the experience to back it up. it was worth every penny to me and i wish i had done it long ago, i am not kissing anyones ass here just stating the truth.

for guys already training with phil try this------------
*my favorite shake is dole 100% strawberry-pineapple-banana juice with strawberry-pineapple-banana zerocarb isopure protein and olive oil* just adjust your protein, fat and carbs accordingly. tastes awesome

wow... interesting....

never thought I would see so many people have good things to say regarding so much fructose intake....

must be something to it :)

thanks all!

Thanks for the info. Do you still have the fruit or juice in a meal with added fats or keep them seperate?

hey, without sounding like a total dick i really think you should contact phil about his services. i am a paycheck to paycheck living blue collar guy and i could afford his services so i am sure you could too. i just dont want to keep giving out valuable information that i paid for myself and how phil makes his living. no disrespect. and its more than just the diet, its the training that goes along with it, the total package.

I am training with Phil as well. It was the best money I have spent. I feel great getting ALL my carbs from fruit.

I am going to have to hire Phil. I have heard nothing but good things about his service.

Looking for opinons/thoughts on how taking in simple sugars and fat at the same time is a good thing?

From everything I have ever read there is the common theme to avoid combining them together in the same meal.

ex: quoted from Dr John Berardi, "Massive Eating" article..

"Avoid meals containing fats and carbs

Unfortunately, this is the typical meal of the Western diet. As a result, it's no wonder that obesity is an epidemic. Meals with a high carbohydrate content in combination with high-fat meals can actually promote a synergistic insulin release when compared to the two alone. High fat with high-carb meals represent the worst possible case scenario.

Now, some people have argued that fat lowers the glycemic index of foods and should therefore be included in carb meals. But remember, the glycemic index only gives a measure of glucose response to a meal, not insulin response. And sometimes the glucose responses to a meal and the insulin responses to a meal aren't well correlated. So although you might be slowing the rate of glucose absorption into the blood by adding fat to your meals, you'll promote high blood levels of fats, carbs, and insulin. And that's a no-no! "

any thoughts on this?

thanks!

TELL ME THIS DR.BERARDIS' DEFINITION OF "A HIGH CARBOHYDRATE CONTENT". WHERE AM I PREACHING "HIGH CARBOHYDRATE CONTENT AND A HIGH FAT CONTENT" IN THE SAME MEAL, AND WHO IS EATING THIS WAY ON THIS SITE?

dr. john berardi = $350 per month for diet/training:eek:

sorry but i think i will stick with phils 1 time lifetime payment of $250:)

if fats and carbs together represent the worst case scenario could someone explain to me why i continue to loose bodyfat without any cardio and taking in an excess of 3,300-3,800 calories per day.

i would personally want to work with someone who has "been there done that" in terms of bodybuilding.
