Are the Power Block Dumbbells awkward and unnatural when using the 120 extensions?
Particularly in the bench and incline presses.

I have an older set with the Big Block extenstion which provide 82.5 to 130lbs. Different attachment system and no longer the smooth 5 (or 2.5) pound jumps but solid enough. I'm not a big dumbbell guy so they are secondary for me. If I was pushing weight and more into dumbbells then IronMaster with the extension kits are better there (no where as convenient for 80 and below though. Choose one or better is to own both!

Thx for confirming what I’ve heard. Above 80lbs Iron Master.

I have the Ironmaster w/ every add on to get em to 165lb. They’re a great set but I abused em when I first got them. Dropped them on concrete over and over. I really need to buy new handles and screws for them.

I've never used iron master but I have the power blocks than go to 125lb. Got them about 10years ago. The clips on them finally broke so now im going to try to buy new ones but they have been good to me. Only issue is what you asked, they get awkward in bench movements mainly because the dumbbell will hit my chest before I get the depth I want. The length you get used to (I did anyways) but the depth part annoyed me as it effected ROM

Don't get me wrong. I live my PBS and for me I wouldn't trade them (DB work is an afterthought - very very heavy user of barbells). That said others have different needs and I don't mind the attachment when I do need heavy dbs. What I will say is that the opinion that I'm dominates for heavy movement 80-165lbs is universally held by serious lifters who have used or owned both. It's valid and stamped not just by me.

^^^hey brother ..no i don't find them awkward at all
..the quick-change is def cool ..good for home gym bc of the space they save

..much prefer going to the gym, but they'r good for a quick pump at home, or when you miss the gym

..still some dumbbell-things you can't do with them ..like behind-the-neck-seated-tricep-presses

..not as easy to to wrap a wrist-strap around them either

►BIGGEST thing with PowerBlocks is DON'T drop them ..you'll very likely bend/warp them if you do
..so use a weight that you can control
..don't think that you can just dump them on the floor after some chest-presses to failure

BTW; ..got a set of PB-90's ..then got dumbbell sets for 100's, 115's, 130's
