I was on it for two weeks back in January for a head cold that JUST WOULD NOT GO AWAY. Gained a fuck ton of weight (abs rippled like a water bed at one point) got a nasty bit of cystic acne on my neck that took about a month to disappear--BUT everything that had been plaguing me overuse wise absolutely STOPPED FUCKING HURTING. I repeat, all the knee, elbow and wrist pain I'd been experiencing just plain stopped. Intstead of pain all inflammation resolved to the point of mild popping, as the tissues would naturally roll over during lifting. First time in a decade I wasn't hobbling around with pain. DEFINITELY not something you should take long term though. But it would be nice to stay on it.
So true. I is truly a magic pill. Has a bad reputation (some well deserved)
but when it works it works like nothing else in the world. It has helped
far more people than it has hurt. A much maligned med but used correctly,
it is nothing short of a miracle.
I was prescribed it 3 times for SSHL. Worked the first time, second not so
much, third time, zero effect . . . pills and injection . . . made me a crazy
person. Could not sleep despite the sleeping pill he gave me. And it gave
me the worst anxiety in my life, literally redefined the meaning of the word.
Just terrible.
And the weight gain, water not muscle, the third time was incredible
and almost overnight. Literally. I remember I was working on a film
at Kink Studio in SF, which was then the largest porn studio in the world
. . . by a bunch. My wife and I had a condo in the Marina, just off the
water. (Still have it.) One night or morning when I got home from work
I went in the bathroom to clean up (not what you think) before bed.
I had my shirt off and looked down and I would not believe my eyes.
It looked like I was pregnant. A huge gut right before my very eyes.
Now they feed you well on set that is for sure but that in not way
contributed the the 'bloat'. I was in shock, had tears in my eyes.
WTF.? How could this happen so fast. Did some research and talked to
my doc (best ENT in the world) and he said, don't worry it will go away
and fast and it did. But my 'problem' persisted. I waited too long to see
him
