What would that be from?
The reason I had it checked- I was carrying weights up some stairs and on my second load I had an asma attack. or hart attack, or something. First in my life. It took me about 10 minutes before I could breath again. The only other problems I had leading to it is- MY belly was swelled up like a balloon the couple days before, and last few weeks when I get home I just fall a sleep when I sit down, doesn't mater where or when or what position I am just out like a light. When I was going up the stairs I felt a sharp pain in my belly at the belt line, 3 or 4 steps later I couldn't breath.(almost like the wind knocked out of you) I went for a check up a week later and he got the blood and said the white blood cell count was pretty elevated, but it was elevated for the past 4 tests.( 4 or 5 years). I think it is just from the lifting but my doc is very concerned. He has never told me why.
liver count fine
kidneys fine
cpk levels always way up
creatine normal
cholesterol??
red blood cell count up some
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
anybody?

Nobody can answer that one but your doctor. It can be Leukemia, cancer, infection, a mistake, relative to your red blood cells or a dozen other things. Most of us would rather say nothing than pipe up about this and be wrong, no offense intended

I know there have been studies done that show a direct correlation between high WBC count and heart disease. But here are some other possibilities....Mononucleosis maybe???? Also what else did the doctor run tests on?? Im sure he wanted you to take more tests to see if they can narrow something down. Are you taking anything supplement wise? Whats your diet like? Stress levels?

Stress not bad
protien
IGF
Growth
sust
novadex
arim
I don't tell him about that
He also asked if I have been in the mountains

Get this checked out further!

Squatster,

This truly a medical evaluation/work-up question that you need to ask doctors. Go in, get checked again, and pursue this until somone can give you some idea what may be happenning.

Your symptoms are enough to be concerned with, so don't screw around on this!

Hope all is well, and you're feeling better soon!

?

Why didn't you insist on him telling you?

He is there with your test results we have no idea.

CROWLER

You gotta tell you doctor man. Trust me on this one....he is not going to do anything but help you. Now I know some people don't believe in the "patient doctor confedentiality agreement" but the more HE knows, the more you will know and maybe find an answer to this. For instance, if it was some sort of cancer (Im just being hypothetical...I would never wish that shit on anyone) he would need to know you are using things like IGF and growth. That type of stuff can make matters worse. Come clean with your doc and get checked.

Ask him what way up means for white count. Ask for a print out of your labs to take with you and post if you will or pm me.

If your WBC is 10k all the time, that's uneasy for me. Some people naturally produce more WBC's and are near 7 - 10k all the time. Same with platelets.

CK is always somewhat elevated in lifters. Again, get a number.

That would help us all out more.

A high white blood cell count would mean that you may be fighting an infection.

Chronically increased WBC is not usually an infection.

I had 2 different doctors do new blood tests- I have not heard from them yet. On the old test my blood was very thick- I don't know what the measurements are called, but the my number was 53, They said that the heart would probably not pump 55. That is what the one doctor told me. and the other one told me the Asama attack was probable a muscle spasm. ?????????
and knocked the wind out of me and that is all?????? Could it have been from the thick blood and my body saying- slow down so I can catch up. Could that be why I had the Asama thing? The dumb asses never even checked my cholesterol. I am going in to get a ultrasound on my kidneys in a few days. ????
I will be meeting with the 2 different doctors next week- or is it the week after? One of them. I just want to go back down to Mexico and lift heavy and bask in the sun with my bottles of legal juice. (I don't relay like being addicted to juice) but it is so goooood It is so hard to stop after 24 years of juice.

It would help to get what the test is called.

If its the hematocrit (Hct) that's at 53% - then yeah you're blood is very thick. Hematocrit basically measures the volume of red blood cells. Once it gets to 65, youre dead. That's probabl why he asked if you were in the mountains. People that are there for a while end up with higher Hct.

If you're getting an US of your kidney, they're thinking something then aren't they? They must have told you what they're trying to rule out or rule in as far as diagnosis right? This information seems critical now.

The asthma attack doesn't add up either. If it's a muscle spasm, it's not asthma. If you just have a hyperventilation attack, it could be from anxiety and other things. It could be from the thick blood if you threw a clot to your lungs that eventually broke up. But then it's not asthma.

I think that cholesterol is not somehting that you need to worry about right now necessarily unless you have a genetic trait that kills a lot of our relatives (male especially) before 45 - 55. It's good to check but not in light of your other problems.

Excellent obs as always PharmD27. The Hct is undoubtedly the number he is speaking of but low 50's would more likely indicate an increase RBC count due to AAS usage and not a few weeks at Everest base camp. The lethargy, distended belly, difficulty breathing would all seem to possibly indicate some type of liver disease or malfunction or an allergy. It is very likely that this gentleman has one or more problems. Could be anything from anaphylactic shock to liver disease.

squatster, it's time to come clean with your docs. You may be in peril. After the length of time you've been using AAS, combined with the types and amounts of AAS, plus your symptoms, I would say you came to the wrong place! You need to let the doctors know all the info. You're test results could be very misleading to a doctor if they don't realize you've been using AAS. You have some work to do. Inform your doctors of everything you've been doing. You're Hct (the 53) is going to stump the living hell out of them if they don't know you've been juicing for 23 years.

Good luck but this board is the WRONG place to go with this problem. Continue working with your doctors and this time, give them the full story. Keep us posted.

here are some test results from last week I had done- the doc said it was much better-

Reticulocyte Count 2.1-

Absolute Reticulocyte Count 120750
normal persom my age-20000 to 80000 cels/MCL

what is that Absoltute Reticulocyte count? Way high-( Just 40,000 over) they were not worried - should I be?

Vitamin B-12 607 200-1100 pt/ml

DH EA 2.2 1.5-7.0 nag/ml

testosterone 279 241-827 nag/Dal

Erythrocyte 10.9 4.1- 19.5

RBC 5.89 X10^6I;
HGB 18.6 G/Dl
HCT 53.4 %
HCV 90.7 FL
MCH 31.4 PG
MCHC 34.6 G/DL
PLT 275 X10^3UL
CMP
T.BILI 1.0 MG/DL
DH 185 U/L
AST 30 U/L
ALT 24 U/L
ALP 51 U/L
CREATE 1.0 MG/DL
BUN 29 MG/DL
GLUCOSE 98 MG/DL
TP 7.2 GD
CA 10.0 MG/DL
ALB 5.1 G/DL
CO2 37 MEQ/L

TAFT
T-4 7.30
TSH 1.7 UIU/ML

TOTAL CHOLESTEROL 260

I have to get the cholesterol checked again to see good or bad. Fasting for 14 hours sucks again.
Nothing in the new blood test worried the blood specialist this time. Thank God. I go to another Doc for the cholesterol though. I think it is up from using to much Arimidex. - Blocked to much estrogen?????? I think maybe???
I wounder if there was some one out there that could read this and tell me what to take to get max gains in size with out abusing the juice. My doc's don't know any thing about juice. I would be better off going back down to Mexico and have them probe me.
After 4 years I finely have natural test in my body (Not very much) - but it is some.
I prescribed my self 1 adult low dose aspirin per day, and I think it helped some with the thick blood????

What do you guys think?
Thanks guys for every thing.

Your ARC is your baby red blood cells (cells in formation). Are they worried about your high reticulocyte count? This looks like a post-cycle blood test for sure. Your test total is in the low range, rbc, hct, hgb all high... especially hemoglobin which is significantly high. The following values of yours are all outside normal range:
hemotology: RBC, HGB, HCT (brother you got some thick, heavy, red blood and a lot of it) all these are pretty high
-albumin is pretty high but still in range
thyroid: okay

Cholesterol is also very high and I'm guessing your other values are outside normal range - triglycerides, HDL, LDL, and your LDL/HDL ratio

If they are okay with it, good. You have to listen to your doctors. I think you would physically feel better if you lowered (or raised in some cases) some of the above numbers. But to me, there's nothing up there that is glaring at me as really really bad as long as you don't do anything to make the numbers worse (like steroids). Keep working with your doctors. Continue to get your values back to normal and avoiding any AAS in the meantime would certainly not hurt any of the above values. Once you thin your blood out and lower that cholesterol, I think you're going to at least feel physically better. BTW, how old are you?

Thanks for the help- I am 39 now. My 2 doctors- I had my first cycle at the age of 15. I didn't know any better, and never even finished puberty in my opinion. (wish I could go back)
my blood doctor and the physician want nothing to do with me really. (Time for new doctors.) Once you tell them you have done juice- they dismiss any thing you say or any complaints and just say- it is the steroids you have taking. They give me attitude now also. I will have the rest of the cholesterol this week hopefully. I am going to start my competition diet this coming week to get my cholesterol down. It really helped last time. Hopefully the high protein doesn't hurt any thing though

I haven't really posted here since 2006 - been juicing still-31 years now - just started playing with the peptides and a little higher juice cycles.
46 now and have never felt better
I still have to try to kick the donuts every day and ice cream before bed

Glad you're back.
so how's the white blood cells?

I don't think it is discussed enough. Androgens increase white blood cells and ramp up the immune system.
Excess white blood cells can cause blockages.
More importantly, the immune system aids workout recovery, but it becomes a limiting factor and a limiting factor of androgen use.
Let's just say the immune system likes to "contain the situation" when it comes to muscle growth. It will sure help recovery, but it can suppress growth. Those white blood cells!

This may not be the proper thread, but I really want to throw that out there. Proper Immune Suppression is an area of investigation for me. Doctors criticize athletes for androgen use, when doctors have been improperly using glucocorticoids as a means for immune suppression. I mean they use cortisol for about everything. It's ridiculous!

Thanks for all the help over the years
Just doing a little follow up on blood tests
I am 47 or am I 48 now and still doing my juice - not as much but still am.
Just got some blood done the other day
I will post them up as soon as I get a second.
