problem with keys upgrading Win7

I recently bought a new machine, came with Windows 7x64 home premium. I decided to use a keygen that passed virus inspection to upgrade to ultimate.
Windows upgraded me took the upgrade key with no issue, but now it's telling me I have 30 days to activate. So, I re enter my ugrade key, and get error code
0xC004E003 which means the key is already in use. So, assuming they meant that it was already in use by SOMEONE ELSE other than me when I used it to upgrade, I typed in my original product key that came with my machine, thinking I would just have to go back to home premium, but now I get the same error code! of course that key's already in use, it's mine! Is there any way to fix this without reinstalling windows? I already had to do that because of constant bluescreens when this machine originally shipped.

You can't go back from a higher version. That's why your Home Premium key won't work. In essence, you cannot revert without reinstalling. However, since you've decided piracy is your ballgame, why not just go all the way and **broken link removed**? I've used it on some test machines. Works for Win7 (all versions), and 2008 Server.

Perhaps I'll do that, I'm just apprehensive about using cracks and mods on operating systems, it just seems like a rootkit waiting to happen, you know?

not when the cracks and mods are open source... you can view every line of code. not everyone out there is loookin to get ya.
