Quickest Way Into Ketosis?
I have read that you can get into Ketosis by doing and insulin shot every 3 hours at 2 ius per shot. It stated that you would then be in Ketosis by end of that day. I am confused because it says you need 10 grams carbs per iu.

Does this work?
Do you eat any carbs when doing this?
After in Ketosis can you resume a low carb diet and still use slin post workout?
Any other suggestions?

Goal is to get fat of my ass and love handles as soon as can.

You need 10g of glucose for every 1IU of insulin so your blood sugar level won't go down too much. When you try to reach ketosis, you want to bring your blood sugar level down, so you don't need any carbs.
Do 3IU in the morning, then 3IU 4-6 hour later. You should be in ketosis by evening. If you are not (8 or so hours after first shot) have another 3IU shot 4 hours or so after the second one.

I haven't had a chnace to read that link yet - my time is limited.

On a ketogenic diet you are supposed to have 70+% fat. So that means fried bacon, egg yolks, hasdammer cheese, very fatty steak, avocados in small quantities due to the carbs in them, etc.

As a cheat, you can have strawberries. Each 100g of strawberries has only 3g of carbs in them, and since you need 30g of carbs per day to get out of ketosis, you can have a fair bit of strawberries no prob.

i tried my slin for bulk purposes and i had no crash, on consulting some people i started the first day at 10iu then 15 20 25 30 35
nothing, no crash waited over 1.5 hr on humulinR, so i may use it to drop into keto, cant waste it, that would be abuse imo, lol

You can stay in ketosis forever it wont hurt you (as long as you feel ok).

I can make myself ketonic if I take a tiny bit of insulin on an empty stomach. Usually within a few hours I'm peeing purple. (on the keto stik)


The problem is when I take insulin to get ketonic it makes me too hungry....way too hungry so it ultimately doesn't work.

If I reach ketosis the longer way (not using insulin) I can stay just fine and am not hungry. Once in ketosis my hunger goes away.

To get ketonic the longer way but quicker I do cardio on an empty stomach and I can get ketonic in 1 day.

I only eat 20 carbs a day almost all the time, you don't need carbs to live. Your body can get plenty of fuel from protein and fat.

fat is much more ketosis-inducing than protein. 58% of protein becomes glucose, only 10% of fat becomes glycerol.

the ease of getting into deep ketosis is based on the fat to carb ratio.the higher that numbrt the higher your ketosis will be and the least hungry you'll be too....bottom line is make sure you're eating fat.

each sugar substitute should be counted as one carb, diet soda too....these take me out of ketosis if I eat too much.

Thanks all for your reply.

So you are saying to eat fat while doiong this?
Will this still alow me to lose excess bodyfat?
What would happen if oen was to eat a low carb, high protein and low fat diet, would this make you lose fat quicker?

Goal si to become extra ripped for a show I have in 2 weeks and one in 4 weeks. One in 2 weeks is just a warmup, the main show is 4-27 4 weeks.

I appreciate all your help. Sorry to ask so many questions.

Badgirls, where are you in MPLS?
I am from MPLS, went to highschool there and lived fro many years. Now stuck in WI.

when using slin, you only should avoid fat while the slin is active in your system-that's why humalog is the best kind to use(out of system within 2 hours)

I did the keto thing sooo many times and to be honest didn't like it. I would rather use a staggered diet to strip bodyfat and the fact of eating 70% fat just made me greasy and nasty all day.

Thanks again guys for the info.

Ry Roid would you then suggest a regular low carb high protein diet with the use of slin in the a.m after cardio and abs and keep carbs low all day? I have one month left to my show and need to maintain my muscle while losing the subborn bodyfat around my glutes and lower back. Thanks again
