ok, regarding pwo shakes.

for along time now i have been having half my shake 10mins beofre and during workout (1 scoop protein, 50g carb - malto, oj), and the ohter half pwo (1 scoop protein, 150g carb-malto, small fruit)

now my question - is having my 50g carb and spiking my insulin during workout going to make my insulin leves crash by the time i have my big pwo shake of 150g malto? even if i am sipping it slowly throughout the workout? can an insulin spike be sustained that long?

I am not a fan of intra/post workout "insulin spiking". A little sugar sipped during your workout may increase your "pump" and training intensity but whole food meals pre and post training with higher % of carbohydrates (along with meal 1) than other meals is all I have found necessary to promote optimal anabolism without the fat gain from all this "insulin spiking" anecdotal bro-science.

personally i have always been a fan of a pwo slin spike shake

side note , last 2 weeks iv cut the 'during shake' and just had one post. this probably had nothing to do with it, but i have noticed i am a lot stronger during my workout. maybe this is due to more blood going to muscles..or like i said maybe it has nothing to do with it.
