Real Hypoglycemia vs perceived affect of hypoglycemia

Assuming one is not pre-diabetic and not using insulin can you actually go hypo from fasting or training fasted only on bcaa/eaa?

i did a 24 hour fast to see what would happen and i never went hypo. i always confused hunger for going hypo because my body is used to eating every 2-3 hours. now that i am backing off from the whole training/eating/gear and just enjoying training i would not like to eat that often.

did i not go hypo because the body can auto-regulate glucose and pull from liver/glycogen?
 
Low blood sugar is always real, gear can make it go lower. Exercise-induced hypoglycemia is real and common. It's not going to kill you but if you dip low enough it can be difficult to stay conscious, alert, able to drive safely, etc. Once glycogen stores are low and protein to turn into glycogen is depleted, your body has to release cortisol to break down tissue and then turn it into glycogen, this happens more easily and more commonly than most people think. When you fast, you make a lot of cortisol and cannibalize a lot of tissue, this makes it easy, cortisol gives you the feeling of energy and wellbeing and a steady supply of glucose through gluconeogenesis. You are more likely to go hypo when not in this state, having a high metabolism, and suddenly depleting the body of glycogen. Also combined with (natty) insulin from a fast-digesting meal increases the hypo effect.
 
I once passed out because of exercise induced hypoglycemia. That was way before I started using PED's. So yes it can definitely occur.
 
I usually have about a 20 point drop or so with a strenuous lifting session. I don't know if this is high or low compared to others because I've never met somebody that tests their BG like I do but its certainly enough to make me feel hypo without slin if I start from a fasted state ~90. I actually like the feeling of exercising with lower than fasted blood sugar levels but if they drop to the upper 60s then I feel hypo and its hard not to panic a little and overconsume carb drink or whatever to get you the fuck out of that feeling.

I would encourage you to burn test strips on yourself to establish patterns. That way you have good data about how your body reacts.
