After my recent heart problems, my girlfriend and I discussed it and we decided that she should go for a full heart checkup also. She's also into fitness and has been using low dose AAS on and off for the past ten years (she's 28 this year). Unfortunately she also used quite a bit of cocaine and smoking as well (when she was younger and partied a lot), so we did get concerned about her health, especially after I had my heart attack.
She's now off AAS and her bloodwork is fine. Her heart was slightly enlarged but still within normal range. Unfortunately, her coronary calcium score came back as 245, which is extremely high for her age and gender. It's probably due to the AAS plus the smoking and cocaine she did for years. She has no symptoms like chest pain, but obviously the doctor was very concerned given her age.
She's already on meds given by the doctor to prevent her score from getting worse, but is there anything else she can take to help remove the plaque? Thanks.
