my doc say's it will take four months to recover.. can anybody give me some input on this type of injury as it relates to recovery/personal experience and or supplementation to help me speed this process along.. i was thinking glucosamine, plenty of milk for increased calcium and protine intake.would HGH help????. i am training on a new job and want to recover as quickly as possable.. i know good old fashion TIME Heals all wounds, but any and all SOLID advise would be a great help..
Thank's In Advance

I wouldn't take the glucosamine. We're finding out that it may only help with pain and arthritis pain. It doesn't speed up recovery. Do you know if the tendon popped off the bone or did the tendon tear away from the muscle? If the tendon tore from the bone, then you are lucky b/c you have a stronger repair and will heal faster. If the tendon tore from the muscle then you will have a longer road to recovery. The PT will help a lot. I think its important to get your fruits and vegetables and vitamins in during recovery as well. Good luck with it.

thank's for the info

the doc say's he will have to wait till he is in there to see where it broke.it realy suck's being MONOCEP. im kinda freakin(onecep twocep/bycep three-cep he,he.he)

I tore the tendon in my rectus femoris about 80%! The docs told me that I was looking at about 3-4 months for recovery...too bad that it took over a year! In the process I must have ripped apart a main nerve that innervated my rectus, because about half of it atrophied real bad and took over a year to get it about 3/4 of the way there! Bottom line, my tendon took longer than they said. These injuries are very, very time consuming seeing that there is such a poor blood supply to the tendons/ligaments. I am not sure that HGH would help, I would think that it would, but I never had enough money to experiment. I'm sure you could do a little research and see if in fact HGH could be used. MAKE SURE TO MOVE A VEERRRYYY LIGHTLY WORK THE MUSCLE/TENDON! If you let the tendon heal without working it the fibers may not line up very well and will be less effective as the original. By working it LIGHTLY and stretching LIGHTLY you can increase the likelyhood that the fibers will line up properly and make for a strong repaired tendon! Be sure to give the tendon a few weeks before you start to work with it!

Yeah. I too was told HGH and nandralone could be used to speed recovery, but I have no experience with this.

I TORE MY RIGHT ONE....IT DOES'N'T HEAL CORRECTLY BY ITSELF.

THE TENDON WILL FIND SOME SPOT AND LAY THERE ...LIKE GLUE...AGAINST THE BONE....WEAK AND READY TO BE RE-INJURED AT THE SLIGHTEST PROVOCATION. OR....IT WILL SHRIVEL UP AND ATROPHY INTO A BALLED UP, DISFIGURED LIKENESS OF IT'S FORMER SELF. THERE CAN BE UP TO A 30% STRENGTH LOSS. IT'S MY MY ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON TOLD ME...VERBATIM.

GO TO AN ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON...GET THAT SHIT FIXED. I DID AND HAVE DONE SEVERAL POWERLIFTING MEETS SINCE THEN AND TRAINED HARD FOR 16 YEARS SINCE THAT INJURY. IT'S REMAINED STRONG. IF YOU LET IT GO...IT'S A MISTAKE IN MY OPINION.

ASK AROUND AND GET A GOOD SURGEON....GET A GUY WHO WORKS ON ATHLETES. :)

I just had a full quadriceps's tendon rupture, a little over 3 weeks ago and had surgery 2 weeks ago, to re attach it! since surgery I have been using 2 1/2 IU's of Gh a day 300mg of deca and 200mg of cyp a week, and IGF 40mcg' EOD in the quad, after surgery I couldn't lift my leg or even contract the quad, 1 week post op the doc took out my stitches and remarked how quickly the incision healed, he gave me exercises and I couldn't even do them, now one week later I'm bearing weight with my brace on, I can raise the leg standing or lying which I couldn't do a week ago, and can bend it almost 90 degrees, which he said I probably couldn't do! I think the GH and Igf and deca have certainly helped, when I start therapy I will add MGF to help the atrophy in the quad!
