Sad day for Pink floyd fans

Richard Wright, co founder of the band Pink Floyd died of cancer
today. I don't know who's into Pink Floyd here but these guys
were a great inspiration to me. I love there music and ground breaking
creativity. They wrote and played there own unique style of music.
Considered geniuses in the music industry.

By far my favorite band. Saw Roger Waters in concert a year ago. At the end of "Wish You Were Here", heard him say "How i wish they were here". This band was very very inspirational to me as well, its very sad to hear this news.

The greatest music influence in my life. Pink Floyd flows to me like life with its intensity and genuine sadness and steady strength. The music they have made has meant a lot to me. Still many days I listen through three or four albums straight.
Rick wrote 2 of the songs on Dark Side of the Moon that are my favorites. His voice on The Division Bell was perfrect for the vocals on Wearing the Inside Out. That is a great track he also co-wrote. I am listening to it now in a mind of thanks for the great contribution he made to life and music.
It is amazing the range of people and generations that have been into The Floyd. Thats a sign of great music, it lasts through generations.

Unfortunately never got the chance to see them live. I remember the
true story of the original lead singer Syd Barrett who went insane
and was put in an institution.

I am a huge Floyd fan. They are my favorite band, and have been for over 20 yrs, and I can't even start to list all of the Floyd activities I have been to: concerts, laser/light shows, etc. First Syd last year from diabetes and now Rick this year from cancer. Very sad time for Floyd fans indeed.

Pink Floyd fan since the 70's

Once there was a thread started on PM about what do we all listen to when we work out. Most of the guys and gals that replied listed different metal and music of that sort. Myself for a few years now about 99% of the time I listen to Darkside of the Moon. I start right at the beginning most times and kind of get into the journey. For all of the Pink Floyd fans try it sometime makes for cereberal workout.

Dark side of the moon, my all time favorite too. Listen to that on a set
of head phones is an experience no one couldl ever forget.

I've seen them twice in concert. Can't say I've ever seen a better display of musical talent and stage presence than Pink Floyd. I would gladly pay $$$ for one more chance to see them put on another tour.

I was absolutely blown away by Dark side when it came out in 74, but i would have to say the Wish You were here and Animals are my favs, best albums to listen with headphones while stoned.( not that I do that anymore)
