btw, i just wanted to give special thanks to phil hernon for teaching me information that would've taken me 20 years to research. although we don't agree on everything, still, he's the best that money could buy (his charges are rediculously low... and i've tried 3 other trainers that charge anywhere from 5-10 x more than what phil charges and didn't learn shit from them)

also, i'd like to thank mike1107 for answering my questions... i'm looking forward to this offseason :D

I'm 5'7, and i weighed in 20 minutes before going on stage (yeah, comps here are retarded, we weigh in 20 minutes before the event) and i was exactly 85 kg (187 lbs).

Phil,
My whole contest prep was 8 weeks long... first 3 weeks i was doing what you told me... i was getting leaner, but not fast enough... then i went with the palumbo diet, lost a LOT of fat, but looked like shit all the way through til the day of the contest.

here's where Phil's help pays off... last year, i looked great all throughout the contest prep and kept on getting leaner and looking bigger and everyone thinks i'm gaining weight... on the palumbo diet, everyone at work kept saying "did you quit lifting weights?"... so it was kinda depressing. :(

1- i didn't want to compete this year in the first place but wanted to get lean. and they don't actually anounce the exact date of contests here in saudi until it's 7-8 weeks out.
2- I work as a drilling engineer... and they just made a new office rule around here prohibiting the use of microwaves in buildings :mad: ... so i'm screwed at the office, and i'm screwed when i'm on the rig... at 8 weeks out, i had enough whey isolate to make 3 meals out of per day for 8 weeks... so i said, what the heck :D ... a jar of olive oil and peanut butter in my bottom drawer, and lots of isolate... it did the trick.

so as you can see, the combination of the bodybuilding federation's retardation, and my job make it very difficult to diet and take contests seriously... so i just decided to "diet down" and see what happens.

No shit! :D ... I'm just not happy with my size... that's the problem... whenever i get somewhat lean i say "ok, time to gain size... sick of this crap"... and i get up to around 15% fat... then i get a call from the team coach telling me i have a contest (one more medal on the shelf means higher PT rates ;) )... so i diet down quick and lose a lot of size and get depressed by the end of the contest then go and eat my ass off.
and as you can see, the competitions around here are like the special olympics, although you won, you're still retarded (i'm so sorry... that was harsh... but it's the only thing i can think of)... I just don't have a reason to stay lean year round YET... maybe when i reach a contest weight of 95 kg or so, then i'll try to maintain my condition.
