script in england now?

my wife just went and visited a friend in london this last week and i asked her to pick me up some candy, she told me they don't sell otc anymore and you need a script, just like here in the states. when did this start? thanks

you dont need a prescription if you have possession of it as it is not illegal to purchase abroad or import it. just illegal to sell without one

in some parts of europe you can.
