Is muscletech really the most affordable protein now?

I currently use PEScience almost exclusively because I just like the flavors, digestion, etc. I also loved Beverly but gotdamn does it require some coin lol

The prices have exploded everywhere so I don't even search cheaper prices anymore I just buy what I feel my body responds to best so it's quality over everything else. I've always felt like SynthePURE is the top of the food chain in quality. My body seems to absorb it like a sponge and no issues like stomach distress or nasty gas. Probably isn't the cheapest buts it's an awesome product and you get what you pay for. If you have ever had garbage protein powders before then you know what I'm talking about.

There was a study (or testing of sort) that had tested some brands, like 10+ years back, and ON was one of them accused of amino spiking. It was a huge deal, but I do not know what came of it. I don't know how credible the source was who tested the products so nothing may have come from it. It's not as easy as people think it is to blast results out on a company and not get sued by a multi-million dollar corporation even with good intentions.

I'm not sure if i'd call it crap, but it really depends on what your expectations are....is it all whey iso,nope....but a blend of cheaper proteins. MT has always been about hype, and in the past a rip off in price. I would note that this is 4.5# and not 5#. Also, i'm not sure if MT still does this, but that's 4.6# of Protein + sweeteners and flavorings and preservatives. Places like TN give you the 4.6# of protein, then add the other stuff afterward. This MT option is not 4.6# of just protein. It states that it is 26g of protein per scoop, but if you notice, the scoop is much larger at 42g instead of the typical say...34g from TN equaling 25g of concentrate. They have to compensate by using a larger scoop to get nearly the same amount of protein. They probably go a little more on the calcium caseinate to bring the price down. All the other proteins, i'm fine with. The carbs may be a little high for some users depending on their goal(s). If you tolerate it well enough, it may not be a bad buy, but probably not ideal. If you were on a budget, then it could work seeing it's around $11'ish dollars/pound in wt.

I don't think they have all those proteins, but it would be interesting to see what the cost would come out to designing it over at TN's custom-build option. I don't think they have calcium caseinate though. Somebody correct me, but I believe the ON at Costco that goes on sale every Christmas is also a blend? My ex buys that for herself and likes it. I use TrueNutrition for myself and the kids.
Way too many fillers in Muscle Tech brand. BSN Syntha 6 is the same crap.

Dymatize and Optimum Nutrition stand head and shoulders above other companies because they're publicly traded (Post and Glanbia, respectively).

If either were caught doing anything shady with their protein the brand hit would be too much for them to take.
Dymatize, Nutrobio, and a few select others are some of the best and purest wheys on the market.

ON is not that good but it seems to have a great reputation. Sure it's fine but I wouldn't consider it one of the best. These days I only have protein in fruit smoothies so I always go with Synthepure due to the quality and the fact it's unflavoured. If I ever get one to go with oats then it's something like toffee and from MyProtein.

For those in Canada, Canadian Protein is a pretty quality brand, straightforward and simple. You can even get it at Costco here. Otherwise, Dymatize is always a great option. I appreciate that it’s got some hydrolyzed whey in there and the Fruity Pebbles flavor is delicious.

Man costco always sells out of it so quick

IF a supplement company sells out a lil too much, they are most likely trying to drive the price down so that the regular Joe's will make the purchase. And in turn, the quality will get cheaper and shittier. Look at ON, Muscle Tech, C4, etc. At one point in time they were sports supplements from gym bros....then they decided to market to moms and dads and random teenagers. Shit changed.

Ok guys this is a decent deal

Whey has gone up, but so has meat. IMO it’s a little silly to look for the cheapest whey like a college kid if you’re doing fine enough financially to get the other proteins you want. You’re either swapping one for the other or using whey strategically for fast digestion. Either way, no point in giving yourself gas or gagging down something that tastes nasty.

I hate the inflation, too, but the price for a protein portion really isn’t that big a deal here.

And Dymatize iso 100 ftw lately. All of their flavors I’ve tried are good and it mixes really well.

Never disapponts

a big middle finger to the haters: just ordered 10lbs of muscle tech whey.. for $100.. blend of concentrate, isolate, and hydrolyzed/peptides.. :D

I looked this one up, and I like the combo of milk protein isolate and whey.. and its actually at a competitive price... next time I need a casein/long lasting blend, im gonna try it out..

I typically choose Ostrovit because it's a local brand with good pricing and batches get third-party tested.
I always go for isolate because it digests very well and doesn’t cause any stomach issues.

For EAAs, I prefer Mutant GEAAR. It may seem pricey at first, but the ingredient quality is superior to other brands.

Oh, and this week I placed an order with ESN because they had discounts of up to 70% (which are still active). I decided to try their Iso whey protein, which was priced at around $40 for 2.2 lbs.
Great discount opportunity for people in the EU (dunno if they ship internationally).
