Anyone know where I can get a line of clothes for the "athletic" guy???
I mean I get these polo/golf type shirts and button down shirts that fit in the chest/shoulders but I spend half the day tucking in the excess material of th lower part back in my pants so I don't look like a "balloon"!

Anyone?

you might have a difficult time of finding shirts that fit off the shelf.

buy what fits and have it tailored to get rid of the excess material.

BFU

eddie bauer has nice shirts, sweaters, thermals, etc. up to xxxxl. just get the waist taken in.

campmuscle . com has Polo's made for bodybuilders...the shoulders and arms are nice and big and the waist is really tight. Plus the length is right. Normally XL Polo's are super long on me.

Yup, buy shirts that fit your arms, neck and shoulders and get a tailor to take in the sides. Its about 10 bucks a shirt.

I tried the athletic cut dress shirts and polos but they still don't fit up top.

Gasp, HotBodz. Great casual and formal shirts that will fit you off the rack.

express men makes some nice clothes, that are shaped properly. too bad their largest size is extra large, and good luck finding extra larges in their store. also their extra large seems to be for that 'model' look, so dont expect much to fit you besides t-shirts - MAYBE.

if you go to a big and tall store you will find clothes for fat people.

some department stores have fitted dress shirts, and sometimes they have up to 3x. with dress shirts my problem is the neck, i can never wear a tie as the neck wont button.

BIG-A....

GASP's stuff looks awesome, is it tailored to fit the bodybuilding type like HotBodz? I've seen on their site that they mention it is geared toward bodybuilders, but I didnt notice whether or not it said it was tailored to fit them (tighter waist, bigger arms/chest, etc)....

Also, have you purchased shirts from Hotbodz? I've been wanting to for quite some time but have been hesitant. Their sizing recommendations go by weight... I weigh 240 pounds but at 6'4" I'm not near as big as someone who is 5' 9" and 240. I'll probably just have to take a guess for my first shirt.

All my jeans and casual pants are Gasp.
I have over 20 of the HotBodz shirts. They all fit amazingly well! The sizes run small though. I get all my shirts 3XL and they just fit me.
The only criticism, is that the sleeves on short sleeved shirts, are too short. They stop half way up the arm, nstead of at the elbow, where they should be to make the shirt look smart.

Thanks Big-A. I'm gonna have to order some from both sites. I have been needing dress shirts that don't fit like a tent for quite some time.

coolkat - i have 'athletic build', not a bodybuilder by any stretch, but still wider shoulders, thin waste.

i always had the same problem as you with real baggy button downs. you can find shirts that fit but they cost a lot of money. look for good brands on sale, the best fitting dress shirts i have found are hugo boss, gucci, and dolce and gabanna. all of the american brands are built for fatty's so just stay away from them alltogether.

lionialrichie,

that's more my body type too. I don't compete, was a bit bigger 20 years ago, and still get my fair share of compliments on my physique ( mostly from women and men older than me ! ).
I'll check those manufatuers out. Thanks

If you can afford it (or go to their sale rack), I like Abercrombie and Fitch.

Their clothes are made for the athletic built.
(And they definetly have polos.)

Problem with the EU designer clothes, once you are a certain size, you just simply can't fit in them anymore.

as been said b4, im a bit of an anomolie,SP?, i wear 3x but im more a 2+x tall, i wear polo and ecko in 3x tall now, even if i diet i wear a 3x(24+ in arms and 58 chest), i realize im built funny, 6'7 330-380, 3x tall, try dicks.com for underarmour polos in 3x, burlingtons has up to 7x in stock for all else.
