i dont know if anyone remembers or even gives a shit but i went to see a different orthopedic doc on thurs about my shoulder and it does not sound good for me. After several x rays and an intense resistance and range of motion examination my doc put me on the exam table on my side and manipulated my shoulder and that is when he told me exactly what i have known for 3 fucking months but really didnt want to hear. He told me that he thinks i might have a partial tear anteriorly, then he diagnosed me for now with anterior instability and gave me a rehab program with a big rubber band. He wants me to do the exercises to strengthen the surrounding muscle and if that does not work then he will send me for an MRI after four weeks. When he was examining my shoulder he pushed on the back of my arm near my shoulder and put counter pressure on the front of my arm just above my elbow my fucking should almost popped out of the socket, with him applying the pressure my shoulder rocked back and forth from front to back hmmmm not good. so anyway just thought i would update you guys about how FUCKED i am. he said it was most likely caused by heavy bench presses, i figured that much. thanks for listening to my sorry depressed ass bitch. tank...

I remember the thread. I am glad you are posting about your situation.

Most of us are in danger of just such a problem or are dealing with it now. I hope the exercises work. We do them and I think they help.

Hey Tank,

I remember that post:

as my shoulder was also bothering me at that time. I hope the rehab movement will help in getting you into more exercises without worsen the pain. I go thru 15 minutes of warm out with exerciese similar to movement done with rubber-band prior to my workout. If I feel the pain from my basic compound movement, I immediately switch game plan, and go with pre-exhause method.

If the rehab suggested by your new doc does not help, what is the next plan? Surgery?

I have good days and bad days with my shoulder, so I can relate to your frustration. Hope the best.

the doc wants me to try this for four weeks and follow up with him then we will discuss further treatment if the rehab does not work. He did say if it didnt work then i will need to have a MRI. Man, at this point surgery might be the answer. I know that is the last option but i work in surgery as a nurse and i see rotator cuff repairs and shoulder arthroscopies all the time i feel pretty comfortable with the risks/benefits. i have not worked chest or shoulders for going on 14weeks now, i have lost about 8lbs but probably more than that because im getting soft so i know my bf is going up. I am just ready to train again. good news is that my legs look better than they have ever. thanks for the support and info tank....

Be VERY careful, I had some serious damage repaired in my shoulder a few months back. Decompression, tendon 70% tear, anchor place for stability, also your every day nuts and bolts. I know longer flat bench:rolleyes: Too much pressure on the shoulder.

I will say that the scars are hardly visible, I have full range of motion, and my strength is at about 95%.

Do the therapy as directed! It helps a whole lot. I had a great doc/surgeon)
