lets say you miss a meal or worst case two. what is the best way to remedy this? double up on your next meal? spread out the meals you missed over a smaller time frame? I assume you should still have the same amount of calories and protein for the day. looking for some input on the best solution/s

eat quality food as soon as you can. missing meals can be culprit for bad or no gains.

i miss meals a lot, i shoot for 6 meals a day but at least a couple days of each week I will only get in 4, and some times 5. Also more often then I would like the quality of every meal isn't up to par. a lot of times if im busy I will just eat a bunch of low carb protein bars, which is the last thing I would try to eat to make any gains. I find if every meal isnt perfect and frequent I just plateau on my gains at some point until I make some strict changes. I think it really depends on your body, where you are, and how far you have came from. If you are just getting into bbing you can get by on hardly any protein in make great gains, but if you have already added 30-40lbs of muscle its going to be tough to get much bigger unless every thing is perfect.

If I missed one or two meals, I would definetly try to recuperate througout the day ,adding two more meals. So instead of eating every two hours, for example, I would eat every hour or hour and a half.
But lets be honest, if missing a meal happen once or twice, and you do not going to ever recuperate them , will this make any difference in the end of the road? If you are going to forget eating constantly, surelly your physique will suffer in the near future.

When this happens, I add meals (as it was mentionned already). I think that it's a mistake to increase the size of the remaining meals because your body might have a harder time to absorb the nutrients.

ok so lets say you miss your 3:00 pm meal and your 5:30pm meal, and you wouldn't be able to get to your next meal let's say 7:30pm. @ 7:30pm would you eat your 3:00 pm meal wait 1/2 hour or so, eat your 5:30 pm meal then wait 1/2 hour and eat your 9:00 pm meal? or consume them a different way?

I think you should wait at least one hour between meals so that the digestion and absorption process is well on its way.

If you know that you are going to miss 1-2 meals you could also:

1. Add fiber, good fats and lots of green veggies at your meal before the missed one (in your example your 3pm meal). These will slow down digesting and absorption so that even though you are not consuming food, at least you'll have a constant flow of nutrients being absorbed between 3 and 7pm

2. Bring 1-2 shakes with you (only doable if you know that you will have to miss meals)

When I'm in a mass gaining phase I will often add a meal/snack in the middle of the night if my total food intake for the day was too low (I always have to go to the bathroom at around 2am anyways). Normally it will be a protein shake plus some low-glycemic carbs.

where cargo pants, fill the pockets with almonds, if you cant get to a shake or a meal start snacking on the almonds. worked great for me last year at work when i was very busy. they are calorically dense, good fats and protein, throw a banana in your back pocket and you have your carbs, problem solved. warning do not put the banana in your front pocket, you may get strange looks particularly from the females:D

they should put warning lables on banana's

And that' s a bad thing?

I love almonds, I do try to say away from them. they are a trigger food for me. I'll go through a few pounds of them like a big block Chevy on gas and they are pricey.
