First I wanna say I love this site! Alot of great tips and the information seems very solid! I read an article on BB.com by Bob Chic about slow cardio and alot of it makes sense to me... but I wanted to get some others views from the pros like on here. He said the best kind of fat burning cardio is on a treadmill/bike, low intensity, hour in length. His specifics on the treadmill was 3.0mph walking speed on the treadmill.

I am cutting right now from about 15% bf so and I have been doing the slow cardio on the treadmill for about a week now but it just feels like I am not doing anything! LOL.. I am use to working hard and sweating up a storm and this is different and hard to get use to. My heartrate normally stays around 100-110.

I was told this is how most of the pros burn the fat when they are cutting, along with the great diet of course.

any thoughts? I am not competitor or pro but I take things pretty seriously ;)

220- age = maximun heart rate, To burn fat 60-70% of maximun, for cardio conditioning 70-85% of maximun. Make sure you get a complete physical from a doctor, before doing any exercise program.
 
i like slow paced cardio. if i do high intensity cardio my squat suffers significantly. high intensity is probably better for your heart though.
 
At 15% I would recommend more high intensity cardio.

Low intensity steady state is better for people who are already pretty lean.

For the slow cardio to really work you have to pop in your sweating to the oldies tape.

I like to do 3.0 mph on 5 , 10 , 15 incline in 10 minute increments. Seriously I find slow cardio works best for me like most in the am but at least 1 hour. Alot of people say 45 minutes. I saw big results with 1 hour + cardio sometimes 2+ hours split morning and evening.
 
cool thanks bro..... I am use to going pretty hard but I am going to give this a go for a while. If you are going pretty hard at the cardio wouldnt your body use carbs to use. as fuel instead of fats? I thought thats how it worked. I can go balls to the wall hardcore but I want to preserve as much muscle as possible.
